October 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Bruce1ee. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Newspaper have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. —Bruce1eetalk 11:20, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Newspaper. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. —Bruce1eetalk 11:32, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Flipsnackwiki", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:Flipsnack has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 12:21, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

October 2022[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account. Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here.

The new username that you use (either by just creating a new account, or having your current one changed) must represent only yourself as an individual, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Either method that you decide to use in order to use a different username is up to you, but you may prefer to just change your current username to one that complies with our username policy if you've already made contributions using this account. Having your account's username changed means that your past contributions (if any), settings, user pages, scripts, and other items will move with you and over to your new username.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can check here for a list of already-taken usernames, as well as search through that list to see if the username you'd like to choose is available (just look at the list of users that appear in the results - if the account that is listed on the very top not match your search, it is available to be taken).

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this username block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 12:21, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I don't represent a company.

Decline reason:

You'll need to change your username by following the instructions above. Yamla (talk) 12:39, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please see the line that says "...give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website." CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 12:26, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've already submit a username change. Flipsnackwiki (talk) 12:51, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, can you please unblock me? Andreeawiki2022 (talk) 09:51, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Unblocked. --Yamla (talk) 09:52, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to declare your conflict of interest, as per WP:COI, prior to editing further. And, no more violations of WP:PROMO and WP:SPAM, please. --Yamla (talk) 09:54, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sourcing and what Wikipedia is not[edit]

Hi, I wanted to note a couple of issues in your recent edits.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Best, Politanvm talk 16:38, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

November 2022[edit]

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Social media marketing. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 20:15, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

April 2023[edit]

Information icon Hi Andreeawiki2022! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Electronic portfolio that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. June 2023[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines.
