Changes/Additions made by AmazeStar[edit]

On 07.05. 24, worked on Delaware County Ohio

Delaware County, Ohio - I added References and sections - Rivers and lakes, Transportation (Highways and Airports), Media, Points and Activities of Interest, and Notable natives and residents.

The article Delaware County Ohio has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles and if you can provide more material for the article please re-create it. Also articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.--Fuhghettaboutit 03:00, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do I get to your talk page?

License tagging for Image:07.05.18Africa1.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:07.05.18Africa1.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:05, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Adoption offer[edit]

Hi there AmazeStar,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I see you are seeking adoption. I've been around awhile and can probably answer most of your questions. If you would like me to adopt you, leave a message on my talk page.--killing sparrows (chirp!) 08:12, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thank you for your offer to adopt me. Yes, I would like for you to adopt me. I am so new, that I haven't figured out where your talk page is. Hope you find my message here.

Great, welcome aboard. I'll send you a longer message later today with more info about adoption.--killing sparrows (chirp!) 17:27, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I'm looking forward to receiving it.

Adoption template[edit]

Hello, and congratulations on being adopted! I've changed your {{adoptme}} template to an {{adoptee}} template to show that Killing sparrows has adopted you. However, I have a question that I hope you can answer for me:

I see that when you added the {{adoptme}} template to your page, you (probably) put in {{subst:adoptme}}. However, all of the instructions that I can see ask that users add {{subst:dated adoptme}}, which helps to keep everything sorted. If you could let me know where you were instructed to use {{subst:adoptme}}, or what caused you to do this, I'd appreciate it, because I'd like to repair the instructions.

You can leave me a message on my talk page, or, if you prefer, you may respond here. Thanks, and happy editing! --Sopoforic 07:19, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for adopting me. I am very new and do not have any idea where the template I added came from. If I find it, I'll let you know.

One of my first questions is, what is vandalism? I want to make sure I don't do it.

Welcome to the nest![edit]

Hi there AmazeStar!

First off I apologize for not getting back to you sooner, I've had a busy few days. I will try to always answer your questions in a timely fashion.

I did a review of your edit history here on Wikipedia and you are off to a great start! Your article on Africa, Ohio is a great beginning. One thing I would suggest is that you always add an edit summary to your contributions. Even a brief comment like, 'fixed typo', or 'grammer fix' is helpful to other editors when tracking changes or checking for vandalism. A good explanation of this can be found at Help:Edit summary. I also see that you have added a picture to the article and congratulate you on figuring this out. It took me a while to get through the complicated instructions for this!

About adoption. I have created a special page for us to use for questions and answers here and put a copy of this message there also. You might want to put a link to this page on your user page and add it to your watchlist. There is also a link to the adoption talk pages of all my adoptees on this page, you can see other adoptees questions and my answers by clicking the links there. You can really ask me any questions that you might have about using Wikipedia. I might not have all the answers but I know where to find them and look forward to helping you learn your way around. If you would like, you can write me a short bit of info about yourself on our new talk page. If I know a little about you and your interests I can probably help you better.

Alrighty then, and welcome to Wikipedia! killing sparrows (chirp!) 04:20, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS, I will answer your question about vandalism on our adoption talk page!--killing sparrows (chirp!) 04:20, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Do I click on Chirp to get there, or where is it?

Click on the word here in the third paragraph.--killing sparrows (chirp!) 15:06, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:Killing sparrows Is this your talk page, I can't find anything labled talk page.

Hi there, I created a special talk page, User talk:Killing sparrows/AmazeStar. On Wikipedia you can also create what is called a 'piped link' where the exact page name is put inside double brackets followed by the 'pipe' symbol, '|', and then another word or phrase. the 'pipe' symbol is usually accessed by holding down the shift key and pressing the backslash key. On my keyboard the backslash is right above the 'enter' key. So if I type...

User talk:Killing sparrows/AmazeStar|here

...and then enclose it with the double brackets, [[ ]], you get this...

here

Whatever you type after the pipe will appear in blue text and link to the page before the pipe.

It is very common on talk pages for people to use this. If I was talking about vandalism and spam and wanted to refer you to the Wikipedia pages about those topics I might say...

The Vandalism and Spam fighting pages will give you more information.

If you look at the above sentence in the edit window you will see the 'piped links' I made to the Wikipedia policy pages. So click this sentence to go to the page I created for our adoption talk! Cheers, --killing sparrows (chirp!) 21:58, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delaware County, Ohio[edit]

Hey Amazestar. I left that message only because I wanted to inform you why I had deleted the article. I see you have found that the article already existed under a different title and have made some great edits! Keep up the good work. By the way, when you leave a message on a person's talk page you don't have to go to the effort of manually typing out your username; just type four tildes at the end (~~~~) which will automatically format as your signature, linked to your userpage when you save. You can also add those tildes automatically by clicking on the button at the top of the edit screen that look like this:. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit 00:29, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will be on break for a week while travelling to Saint Paul Island, Alaska. I hope all is going well! If you need help while I am offwiki please go to the WP:ADOPT talk page. Again, I am sorry I missed your note. Cheers!--killing sparrows (chirp!) 18:10, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

March 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Irena Scott has been reverted, as it appears to have removed content from the page without explanation. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. The recent edit you made to Irena Scott has been reverted, as it removed all content from the page without explanation. Please do not do this, as it is considered vandalism; use the sandbox for testing. If you think the page should be deleted, see this page for instructions. Thank you. EdBever (talk) 11:55, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Irena Scott. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 12:15, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This was not vandalism; this was an article author attempting to request its deletion. The first several times he or she blanked, but on the third instance used the proper template request. Treating it as vandalism was simply wrong. The contributor who left this warning has himself been blocked as a sock puppet. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:22, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:07.05.18Africa1.JPG[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:07.05.18Africa1.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:22, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to add a personal note to the "form letter" above, even though you have been inactive for some time, to let you know that the question here doesn't concern the photograph itself, but the contents. While I have no doubt you took the photo, I am afraid that unless you own the copyright to the text on the sign you may not be in position to release it under the licenses we require. If perchance the image is deleted before you visit Wikipedia again and you do own that copyright (or can get permission for it), please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. It's a simple matter to have it restored.
While I'm at it, I'm sorry about the vandalism warnings above. Clearly, none of your edits there were vandalism. The first two were misunderstood by contributors who did not notice that you were the creator of the article. The third was flatly inappropriate, as there was nothing remotely wrong with your action and it should not have been misunderstood. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:22, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
