Conflict of interest[edit]

Hi Amanda,

Adding links to your own site is frowned upon here, especially when people can see your list of edits and spot that that seems to be your primary purpose for being here. The Wikipedia:Conflict of interest page explains how to handle situations like this. Your best bet, per the info on that page, is to go to the talk page of the articles in question and suggest a link to the site and see if others agree that the link is appropriate for that page. Adding the link yourself will often cause people to assume the link isn't good without even looking at it. This would encourage others to judge it on its own merits.

Essentially a friend asked why was I not being linked to, as I have an extremely popular site. I have #1 rankings in most of the subjects I linked to but they were taken down as "dead links" which they are not? I don't understand why.

Hello. I know I'm not DreamGuy, but I can still answer your questions. :-)

A talk page is intended for discussion and collaboration on articles and other pages. This page here is your "user talk" page, intended to give you messages about your contributions. DreamGuy has one as well, here, should you wish to contact him. You can reach the talk page of any page by clicking the "discussion" tab at the top of the page. If the tab is red, that just means that you'll be the first to post comments there. You can find more about that at WP:TP. As for your site, I would recommend posting it first on the talk page and allowing other editors to add it to the actual article.
