Updating Jupiter Broascasting Page

Hi Aluxosm as you may have noticed I have been editing the Jupiter Broadcasting page to try and update it and cite more sources, my account is only 2 days old so I cannot upload files but I think the JB logo should be updated to the new one at - http://jb4.cdn.scaleengine.net/wp-content/themes/jb2014/images/logo.png PenguinFred (talk) 18:51, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your work on the article and good work on spotting the logo, not sure how I missed that! I've just updated it, cheers. Aluxosm (talk) 04:33, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

References

No clue why you did this. Doesn't make any difference and seems a waste of good editor time... --Randykitty (talk) 14:28, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

I did it because I wanted to add info to the citations about the NSA, doing this using citatiations defined in the body would have made the source totally unreadable. I'd hardly say that it was a waste of editor time, I think it took me about 3.5 minutes by using the References segregator tool, it's taken me longer to reply to your message than it did to make the edit! Either way, unless everyone is using the VisualEditor I believe I've saved somebody else a few seconds and perhaps saved a new user from getting confused and giving up when they look at the source, I know that it has done exactly that on another article for myself. Thanks for your concern, but in this case it is misplaced. Aluxosm (talk) 16:18, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Notice

The article Zoom H6 Handy Recorder has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

sourced almost entirely on press releases

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 01:50, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

I removed the prod tag based on your comments on its talk page. DGG ( talk ) 19:51, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Please do not post information leading to off-wiki accounts

Please see WP:OUTING. It is not appropriate to link to the purported off-wiki accounts of Wikipedians, unless that Wikipedian has directly linked to that external account themselves (e.g., posting their Twitter account link on their userpage). This can be considered harassment. The edits in which you have linked to what you believe is the off-wiki account of another editor have been removed and suppressed. Further incidents may lead to repercussions for you, up to and including a block. Thanks for your attention to this. Risker (talk) 16:03, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

@Risker: I left this at the time because I read through the page you linked and realised that I was in the wrong. Despite the user writing about their real identity on their talk page, it was wrong of me to attribute a social media account to them as they had not explicitly made that connection themselves. All was well until I came across this. Another oversight user who like yourself is in charge of dealing with issues like this, essentially did exactly the same thing, and even did it with the same user. If it wasn't bad enough, that very admin was certainly aware of the original issue — rules for thee but not for me. Aluxosm (talk) 12:25, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Zoom H6 Handy Recorder

Hello, Aluxosm, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Scope creep, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Zoom H6 Handy Recorder, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zoom H6 Handy Recorder.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Scope creep}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Thanks

Thanks for tidying a Trump citation using the Tweet reference template. The template was new to me and is very useful! best wishes Guffydrawers (talk) 15:49, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

@Guffydrawers: (Apologies for the late reply) No worries! The {{cite tweet}} template is pretty handy for sure. It's definitely not one to use everywhere but I've found it useful in backing up another reference (like this example), or when the author is speaking on behalf of, or is a reliable source themselves. DYK for Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference

On 29 November 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the press conference held at a Philadelphia landscaping company by Donald Trump's presidential campaign has inspired a virtual charity run to be held today? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
