CLT Deletion
Hey. I am trying very hard to keep College Libertarians of Towson from being deleted. Perhaps you can help by expanding upon the existing entry to demonstrate its significance, and provide sources that comment positively AND negatively about the organization. We need a topic that is not "a" college organization, but "THE" specific college organization here. Additionally, I think it would help to keep original sources and research, as well as self-promotion for the organization's events off the page. I need your help to save the topic, and I think if you revise the article in the ways mentioned, as only you and very few other people can, then I think this topic can survive deletion. --Malecasta(talk) 04:45, 2005 Oct 15 (UTC)

Conscription
I'm reverting your addition of the ext link to the conscription articles. Our ext links don't try to give a bibliography of every available site discussing a subject. Instead, we linke where there's a reason to do so. The most common reason is that a site provides more detailed factual information than we have in the Wikipedia article. Your links seem to me to be just your personal expression of opinion against conscription. If I'm missing some reason why the links should stay, please let me know. - Thanks for your response. It's not just that the subject is addressed in other ext links, but that it's covered in the article itself: Conscription in the United States#Legality. If you want to improve the presentation of the libertarian POV on the subject, the way to do it would be remove the reference to Ayn Rand and substitute a citation to an opinion by someone qualified to have one. Rand has no credentials for addressing a point of American constitutional law. That passage is in there only because Silverback was fighting so hard for the anti-conscription POV and I simply ran out of energy for hassling every little point. There is an unholy mess in the Maryland article regarding a section entitled "cultural identity." Most of the editors agree that the state is a Northern one, and many facts have been posted and adequately cited to prove that fact. A Confederate sympathizer, however, is constantly going onto the article, removing cited information, and replacing it with unsourced "statistics" that steer Maryland into the Southern category. Please read the whole debate, weigh in, and please, PLEASE, help. History21
Marijuana Wiki
Hi there,
I see that you are a pro-Cannabis Wikipedian so I hope this will be of some interest to you.
I've started a Marijuana wiki (aka The Sticky Wiki) which I think you might be interested in. I'm hoping you can help me get started with this project. Whereas lots of articles about weed get speedy-deleted on Wikipedia, they would be totally cool over at MarijuanaWiki. But really I want the site to be more of a marijuana community than merely an encyclopedia.
To give you an example, I want to have city guides about where to score, find pot-friendly cafes, marijuana events, and what represents a good price in that city. Etc. (You can check out the featured article: "Toronto" to see what I mean). I also want to have grow diaries and marijuana blogs. All in all, basically more communal than encyclopedic.
I am in need of admins/moderators, and people experienced with MediaWiki to help build policy, categories, and templates, etc. If you'd be interested in helping me with this project, the URL is MarijuanaWiki

Nirvana
Nirvana was not a post-hardcore punk band, and have never been classified as such. Even All Music Guide doesn't classify them as punk. Please do not add them to the category again without citing a specific (and noteworthy) source. -- ChrisB 04:23, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- I created that category specifically so I could place Nirvana in it. Yes, they have been classified as post-hardcore. An audio-clip of a news media source from when Nirvana was just beginning to gain popularities labels them clearly as "post-hardcore." This clip can be heard on the video Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!.
- Granted, not all of their songs are post-hardcore. However, I find this to be irrelevant.

- Wikipedia's guidelines are pretty clear: WP:V. Anything added must be cited through a verifiable and reputable source. A random clip from LTSO does not meet that standard. Furthermore, your assertion is entirely contradicted by a simple Google search, which results in no relevant hits for "post-hardcore punk" and nirvana.
- But you should also not be creating Categories for the sake of one band. Particularly when that band is FAR more commonly associated with other specific genres.
- Regardless, this genre doesn't exist. Same for post-hardcore. They're just music journalist fill-in terms to find links between bands that don't otherwise share any. When people can't figure out what bands go in a genre, it's usually a bad sign. -- ChrisB 07:36, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

- When I did a Google-search on Nirvana and post-hardcore, I found this page which claims Nirvana was hardcore punk. I'm sure Cobain would appreciate the label, but I still think post-hardcore is more accurate, considering their stronger pop-sensibilities.
- Do you think the Melvins would be more accurately defined as hardcore punk or post-hardcore?

- Read that page you linked to. It doesn't say that Nirvana was hardcore punk or post-hardcore. It says they carried a hardcore punk influence, which is an assertion I wouldn't have a problem with. The whole paragraph is talking about how hardcore punk led to alternative rock, which is one of the main genres that Nirvana belongs in.
- As for the Melvins, I can't judge. I haven't listened to their stuff. But I see more people call them either hardcore punk or metal than anything else. -- ChrisB 02:27, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Howdy, I noticed that you and I seem to post in one or two articles dealing with progressive issues in political science/sociology. There's currently a debate beginning in Boston Tea Party as to whether the article should include the category [2]. It meets definitions set in the articles Terrorism and Definition of terrorism, however, there are several self-proclaimed patriots who watch BTP who refuse to recognise the fact. The simple criteria for terrorism generally seem to be intimidation or destruction of property in order to change public policy or public opinion while a state of war has not yet been declared. Some users would rather use recent acts of terrorism as a yardstick, rather than using a firm definition, and hence lose their ability to discuss matters calmly. Age category
Hello! If you are receiving this message, that means that your user page is in a specific year category. Per a recent user-category per deletion, all specific year categories are to be deleted. If you wish to continue using year categories, you have two options:
- Using an age group category, such as Category:Wikipedians in their 30s
- Using a decade category, such as Category:Wikipedians born in the 1970s.

Massive taggings, etc.
I noticed these edits [3][4] you have made quite a while ago; one was reverted by another user, and I've just reverted the other one. Please note that these massive taggings are extremely uncontributive to Wikipedia - the tags are for specific unverifiable claims which could be disputed. In these cases, what you have massively tagged is merely a list of artists who covered a particular song, whereas 1. I couldn't see how it could be disputed, 2. The information needed is one or two clicks away in the linked articles. Even if it IS disputed and no information could be found on Wikipedia, it is far more convenient to use section tags such as Template:Unreferencedsection, and not tag every reference, which makes a tiresome job both for other editors and for you. That said, it is still not recommended to tag a claim which could so easily be verified - you could simply spend a little time finding the reference yourself and adding it into the article, instead of waiting for another user to come around and do it.
A friendly reminder - I notice you have an extremely long autobiography of yourself on your user page - which is not recommended and sometimes results in a deletion. User pages are for other users to get to know you and your interests and to improve your collaboration with other users, and you have done that pretty well, but it's really over-long and while sentences like "It is generally agreed by all persons that he is super-sexy" shows you have some sense of humor, they're not really relevant. Sections like goals in life, sex appeal and details of your childhood aren't really necessary, either.
Anyway, I respect your contributions, especially your long explanation of the edits you made to Punk ideologies. Another user disagreed and removed those sections again; I've added them back. See if you have any problem. Cheers. Aran|heru|nar 06:14, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

- Ah, this is just me screwing up. I was adding the usual headers to the page when I made this edit. I'm not sure why I added my sig, it was probably an attempt to force sinebot to put User:SPresely's sig on the page and before I knew about {{unsigned}}. To clarify no I did not post SPresely's remarks. If you look at my userpage you'll see that I'm actually a man, working in Ireland, also just BTW, I'm not a libertarian or anarchist. Yo, I just reverted your edit to Karl Hess - you added "Hess, Karl" to each of the categories so that the article would be sorted properly, but this function is already accomplished by the code {{DEFAULTSORT:Hess, Karl}}. Invitation to Anarchism Taskforce

However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Speedy deletion of Anarchism.net
A tag has been placed on Anarchism.net requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Removal of category from your userpage

It was determined in that deletion debate that this category should be depopulated of individuals, but kept as a parent category. To all members of the Anarchist Task Force - about improvement of the AI-Wiki-page
I have just joined the Anarchist Task Force, and I have had some problems with publishing of my Anarchist International Wikipedia page, see my sandbox http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Anna_Quist/Anarchist_International for the present version/proposal. This page needs improvements to reach Wiki-consensus, and this should be a somewhat collective project to avoid a "COI"-template. As I am new to editing here on Wikipedia I need help with the page, I hope for your cooperation with this improvement.
