Conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, AllenInUtopia. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Foundation for Intentional Community, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. I dislike these standardised templates, but there is a formal process for such things. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 11:16, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can I suggest you try editing other unrelated pages, and come back to this once you have some more understanding of the community. Then make edit suggestions on the article, I'll happily work through them with you if you ping me. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 11:19, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ActivelyDisinterested, why do you think you qualify as a gate-keeper for the FIC Wikipedia page? I refuse your suggestions. You obviously do not know enough about the subject to edit my writing, as I am the subject-matter-expert (SME) while you seem to have only a rudimentary understanding of the subject. If you were a FIC SME you would have removed the Sandra Gurvis information. It was in the first paragraph of the material I have replaced. AllenInUtopia (talk) 14:36, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You haven't answered the question. Do you have a Conflict of Interest with FIC? Ca talk to me! 09:22, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have conflict of ideology and theory with the FIC. I do not have a role or other direct engagement with the FIC. Why do you ask? Why does it matter to you? Do you have a conflict of interest with the FIC? AllenInUtopia (talk) 18:34, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

May 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Peaceray. I noticed that you recently removed content from Foundation for Intentional Community without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Good Day, you are evidently the person formerly known as "Actively Disinterested," so you and I have been through this before, around Jan-Feb 2023. Thank you, I did neglect to post an "edit summary" when I deleted dated information on the FIC page yesterday. I will be more careful to document my updates through the future. Evidently, you are not very familiar with the intentional communities movement, or with the FIC specifically. If you were, you would know why I deleted the dated material about the FIC. Specifically, the FIC stopped printing "Communities" magazine in 2019, and Twin Oaks Community no longer hosts FIC meetings as of this year because of a fire that destroyed a million dollars worth of buildings and equipment, including their conference center. If you did know these things, why didn't you delete that material? Obviously, you are not a subject matter expert (SME) with regard to ICs in general or the FIC in particular, so why are you playing the gate-keeper/watch-person for this FIC Wikipedia page? When last we talked you ended up saying that you had better things to do, and I suggest that now as well, you have better things to do. In the case that you care to see some credentials for my being the Wikipedia FIC page SME, please see my personal website: www.intentioneers.net I have my own IC movement initiative called "School of Intentioneering," and so I do not have a conflict-of-interest. So now, please tell me, what qualifications or credentials do you have for updating or deleting anything on the FIC Wikipedia page? I will remove again the dated material that I deleted yesterday, and I have updates from the FIC 2023 Annual Report to add to this page. I will also note that 2024 is the 75th anniversary of the FIC. Please do not delete my updates. Please get familiar with my name so that you will not delete my material any more, other wise you and I will engage in another Wikipedia update-war as we did in 2023. My name is: Allen Butcher AllenInUtopia (talk) 13:43, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Correction, I just noticed, in the "Activities" section of the FIC Wikipedia page it says that the FIC publishes the Communities Directory, not Communities magazine as I thought. That is correct, so your reinstatement of that deletion was helpful. Thank you. As I have a copy of the FIC 2023 Annual Report listing the FIC's activities I will expand the information in the "Activities" section according to that report. Please respect my contributions to the FIC Wikipedia page. I may make mistakes occasionally, yet I correct them when I find them. Allen Butcher AllenInUtopia (talk) 13:56, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
