Thanks

This is weird: I wonder how the MediaWiki software parses template calls in block summaries? TeleComNasSprVen (talkcontribs) 12:07, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

I just noticed this sad saga, thought "pity, should remedy" and saw you'd sorted it. Thank you, and wishes for a happy 2014. – SJ + 08:59, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
He also says thanks so spread the message! TeleComNasSprVen (talkcontribs) 06:17, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
That's awesome :) So glad it all worked out in the end! - Alison 18:32, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

"Get a room"

"Also, BMK and Hans Adler - can you two please just get a room? - Alison"

Do you mean that it's really "sitcom love" (or maybe I should say "screwball comedy love") between us, where the bickering couple doesn't realize that they're actually deeply in love with each other, until some accidental physical contact causes them to understand what's really going on? I'll have to ponder that. BMK, Grouchy Realist (talk) 23:53, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

  • That's basically it. You're like an old, married couple having a very public disagreement :D - Alison 23:54, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
    • I've just posted on HA's talk page, asking if he'd like to bury the hatchet. BMK, Grouchy Realist (talk) 23:58, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
      • So long as it's not in someone's back! - Alison 23:59, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Is extra protection time needed? --Gh87 in the public computer (talk) 19:57, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

  • I think it should be just fine for now. We've not had that barrage of BLP nonsense in quite a while - Alison 19:59, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

There has been one revert this month, and protection will expire in hours. --George Ho (talk) 22:25, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

It's been fully protected for five or four years. Shall you lower protection to semi-protection or PC2? --George Ho (talk) 03:57, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Sorry, I'm really not going to do that. There's history there that you are unaware of. If you really need to bring this further, please contact ArbCom - Alison 04:35, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

RevDeletion Request

Hi Alison. I am here to request that you delete this edit from the page history, as per WP:CHILDPROTECT, which states that "Comments posted on Wikipedia suggesting that an editor may be a pedophile will be RevDeleted promptly, to avoid issues of privacy and possible libel." Thanks, Jinkinson talk to me 02:07, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Given the editor in question is RL identified, I'm calling that potentially libelous, and have suppressed it and a number of other edits, per policy. I've also blocked / prot'd here and there. Let me know if that guy comes back again and I'll deal. Thanks! - Alison 02:20, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
    • Yes, it looks like he has indeed come back--see the message in huge text at the top of VSmith's talk page. Might want to delete/suppress that edit too. Jinkinson talk to me 02:32, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
      • Ok, fixed. That stuff really annoys me - trivializing child sex abuse isn't okay - Alison 02:34, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Just saying Hi

It's been a while. Hope you're well! --Eamonnca1 TALK 02:10, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I submitted a page back in 2009 called 'Bootle hens' which was deleted under the speedy deletion criteria (A7). I believe I am entitled to a copy of this page and if so I would like one please. I'm not really sure why my page was A7'd as there were references on there and its significance was justified as far as I was concerned. I've looked at the criteria for A7 and I think my page was unfairly deleted. To be certain though, I need to see the page hence this request. Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blakes101 (talkcontribs) 14:25, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
