I'm very easy to pronounce. I'm sure you can say "sem-ee-KO'-lon-dot". There's not a rule against it, is there? ;. 23:33, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well thanks for the warning. Do you have any particular people in mind, and what they might say? I've noticed plenty of unpronouncable/meaningless usernames. ;. 23:37, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for a better name:

User:sem-ee-KO'-lon-dot and various spellings

Some variation of your real name

A character from a book perhaps Theresa Knott (a tenth stroke) 23:43, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Theresa, what exactly is wrong with my name? I've read Wikipedia:Usernames, and it's neither deliberately confusing, inflammatory, nor harassing nor defamatory, but it certainly identifies and distinguishes me. It's short, but that makes it easier to remember than many longer usernames.
I can't see how it could be "offensive to a significant number of people", which is the only thing mentioned on the usernames page that can force a change. ;. 23:56, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

From the same page: The best username is typically either your real name, or a longstanding internet pen name. Please pick a username that helps us to write an encyclopedia. That means picking a name that you're comfortable writing under, but it also means picking a name that others are comfortable seeing and collaborating with."

Your name is confusing. I'm sure that someone of you clear ingenuity can comwe up with a better one. Cheers! Theresa Knott (a tenth stroke) 00:04, 29 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Actually - thinking about it a good compromise solution, that would please everyone would be if you were to go to your preferences and amend you signature to this

;.|SemicolonDot

Which should change your signature to something readable but keep your username as ;. Happyness allround. Theresa Knott (a tenth stroke) 00:12, 29 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
