CS - FC Universitatea Craiova

UEFA, FRF si LPF o considera CS U Craiova. Narcis90 (talk · contribs) 12:44, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Seems OK and tidied overall, nice work.

Have a nice week --85.242.133.151 (talk) 19:55, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

  • This is me with a different (but also static) IP, editing from my place of work. I was in somewhat of a hurry this weekend, but had another look now and made some minor tidyups (for example, added the NFT.com external link, always a good bet for internationals, and the many categories that were missing and that I overlooked in my first analysis). Again, congratulations on your work, take care. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 10:39, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

Also, can you please help out at Constantin Budescu? I keep get reverted for no reason (he is on loan from the Chinese club, right? So, the field for that team in box should read "2016-" not "2016-2017"; plus, that person has no idea of English). --193.137.135.2 (talk) 11:14, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

  • Ah, thanks, could you kindly update his status? I'll have a look at the wording later. UEFA Youth League matches? I don't think so (only senior stuff goes in the charts), but you could ask at WP:FOOTY to be 100% sure mate. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 11:27, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

OK and thanks, i'll adjust Mr. Marin's storyline regarding the stadia :) --193.137.135.2 (talk) 11:37, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

  • Regarding Mr. Budescu, I was thinking more about a ref. Could you please find a Romanian source citing the Chinese side loaned him to Astra? Remember, we don't need another sub-section for that, write it in the Dalian section. I'll start the storyline, please wait a few minutes to avoid an edit conflict. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 12:04, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

Indeed, Marin's box should read "2013-17". Regarding the Youth League and other questions, WP:FOOTY is always a safe bet. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 10:16, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

  • What an idiot vandal in Budescu, thanks for reverting (even if/when he returns to Astra, why do they have to remove the other info?)! I'll have a look at the article you request still today. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 13:15, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

Tosca done! If you can just add a ref to his international debut which I just wrote about, that would be a great teamwork... Enjoy your weekend, salutari --193.137.135.2 (talk) 11:17, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

  • No problems man, school (for example) is always more important than this, just a hobby. I replaced that new ref with a better one, with a complete written report instead of just a match sheet. Cheers also, good work! --85.242.133.151 (talk) 15:10, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

I have a lots of WP projects now, will see what i can do later. Sorry man, i don't have a FB page :) --85.242.133.151 (talk) 22:03, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

  • For the moment, in D. Rotariu I ordered the categories and added +3 (he played in Liga II with Dinamo's reserves, correct? He is a full Romanian international, no? Another one for his playing position), and also added +1 link (I noticed you never add the NFT.com external link, and that is always very reliable for international footballers). Later, will have a look at storyline. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 10:45, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

OK mate, you may do as you please. I choose the other approach (and in fact, i think it's only obligatory to pipe the English clubs, i have left hundreds of articles with the non-English clubs written in full and i have never had any problems). --85.242.133.151 (talk) 21:57, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

  • I'll have a look at the start of next week, cheers. In Răzvan Marin, please don't change the NEWSPAPER field into PUBLISHER, it was fine that way, to differentiate between what is a newspaper and others (magazines, websites, etc) --85.242.133.151 (talk) 20:31, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

Easy, when you click in those who have a WP article, it clearly indicates which are and which are not :) --85.242.133.151 (talk) 16:31, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Both seem OK, I only had a quick glance (and I had already worked a bit in Rotariu last month), but i think it's more habitual to write "club" in intro than "side". --193.137.135.2 (talk) 12:57, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

I see... For example, I know about Libertatea and Gazeta Sporturilor being newspapers from WP, but indeed, some refs "become dead" shortly after being added, a shame. Have a nice day as well! --193.137.135.2 (talk) 08:53, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi 8Dodo8. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! – Juliancolton | Talk 01:19, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi there DODO,

yes you are correct in your guess, it is me. This will be the last, i just created because i was getting tired of: 1 - not being able to edit protected pages; 2 - asking fellow users to move pages. This way i will not bother anyone, and if i decide to leave again, i'll do it quietly.

Converting non-free logos to svg

Hi 8Dodo8. I noticed that you've been converting quite a few non-free logos to svg format. You should be aware that doing such a thing is not automatically considered acceptable per WP:NFCCP by a number of editors for the reasons given in discussions such as Wikipedia:Media copyright questions/Archive/2016/February#Is SVG copyrightable even if the resulting image is not?, Wikipedia talk:Non-free content/Archive 64#Vector images of non-free logos from unofficial sources, Wikipedia talk:Non-free content/Archive 61#SVG non-free content, Wikipedia talk:Non-free content/Archive 64#Non-free images and SVG. I'm not trying to say that the conversions you're making are not OK; just that there has been a bit of discussion on this and not everyone agrees that such conversion are OK in all cases. So, you might want to ask for some feedback at WT:NFCC or WP:MCQ to see what others think before you do any more of these.

Also, it would help save a bit of post-conversion clean up if you added the syntax nonfree=yes to {{Vector version available}}. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:46, 29 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi there,

since the player has only appeared (so far) for FC Krasnodar and not Kuban Krasnodar, Krasnodar is enough in my opinion, no need for differentiation. But i repeat, i still write full names of clubs in storylines and only compress them in boxes, and i have not been blocked/ran into any trouble because of that.

Happy week --Quite A Character (talk) 21:59, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

  • Done in Teixeira! I see you chose to follow the admin's advice and pipe the club's names even though to unpipe them does not harm a thing, for example reverting me again in Teixeira and Albín. That's OK, i'll leave articles in peace.

Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 10:16, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

  • It's just that if you check many many pages (even for, let' say, a Spanish player that now competes in England), that does not seem to be an issue. No worries, have a cool week too! --Quite A Character (talk) 11:08, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

(Sorry for the delay, only returned now from a short holiday)Yes, and indeed i am going with Steaua on this one, Sporting may field only two national players or three during this season (Rui Patrício, Fábio Coentrão and possibly Bruno Fernandes (footballer, born 1994)), to me William Carvalho and Gelson Martins are not Portuguese (Angola and Cape Verde are different countries, no? It has nothing to do with the colour of their skin, for example Silvestre Varela or Miguel Monteiro are 100% Portuguese; Adrien Silva will probably - if he has not already! - be sold). Steaua have (per the WP article) 19 Romanian players in their squad, the "Portuguese" football is a disgrace in that department, especially Sporting, Porto and Benfica of course.

Cheers, continue the good work --Quite A Character (talk) 16:08, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

Well I must have had bad info. Thak you for the explanation. As for the position, it just seems easyer to read, I could be wrong. If it bothers you, you can change it back.

Various

Hello there, how is it going?

1 - i took notice of that transfer, and i also took notice that you reverted me again in display of club names. Strangely enough, you only piped Braga and Steaua and nothing else. We have to be at least coherent, i helped out and piped all the club's, and i give up in Romanian/Romania-based footballers, don't want to start a needless edit war that will benefit noone (even though i repeat i see NO PROBLEM whatsoever in displaying full names of clubs in intro/storyline, but whatever).

2 - nice match from Steaua last night, great display from Nita and Alibec. However, you can't compare William Carvalho to Rodrigo Battaglia, not in your wildest dreams :) Good chances for the Romanian now!

Cheers (P.S. i don't know if it was you that edited as anon in Artur Jorge afterwards. If it was, please bear in mind that FORADEJOGO is a Portuguese website as the player, and if they say he played ZERO SECONDS with S.C. Freamunde it's more reliable than SOCCERWAY; if it was not you, please help revert whenever needed) --Quite A Character (talk) 19:10, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

  • Carvalho will most definitely leave in this transfer window, he has not been selected for two games in spite of being healthy. If he is going to West Ham, that i don't know :) --Quite A Character (talk) 21:38, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

It was bound to happen, EIGHT nationals playing against FOUR! A shame it happened, but i wish nothing but the worst to Sporting and all the "Portuguese" teams in European competition!! --Quite A Character (talk) 20:39, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

  • Not quite sure why are you congratulating me man, i told you i DON'T LIKE any Portuguese teams (not even the national one, yes please believe me, and i can't stand Cristiano Ronaldo), my club is Athletic Bilbao. Cheers --Quite A Character (talk) 20:44, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

I don't mind seeing squads with five, six or seven foreign players, but having teams like S.C. Olhanense with 19/20 foreigners (look where it has got them now) or C.D. Aves (recenlty promoted to the Primeira Liga, finished last game with THREE (!) Portuguese players) seems illogical not to use a stronger word; and the English League overall and Real Madrid are also despicable in that department.

And why should i admire Ronaldo (don't know if that was exactly what you were implying)? He works harder and harder to be the best at his profession? So many other people do that, and don't feel the need to be "hey, look at me, i'm go(o)d" all the time. And he's the worst example of sportsmanship i can think of right now (feels sad when teammates score instead of him – always being the last to congratulate – feels persecuted by Spain, buys his own children; why should i look up to a person like that? No thanks).

Keep safe, until some other time --Quite A Character (talk) 21:05, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

Do you think you can please help out in this player's article (i have already started sourcing the content)? Just add one ref for him signing with each Romanian club. I ask this because i suppose it will take you very little time, if it does not do not bother, you're not my servant and i suppose you have better things to do :)

Thank you very much in advance, cheers --Quite A Character (talk) 18:09, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Revert them, ESPECIALLY if the other user did not write one word in the edit summary to explain their actions (which happens often)! Just checked it now, 15 August 2017 at six o'clock, no summary written as I suspected... --Quite A Character (talk) 11:10, 21 September 2017 (UTC)

Great job, thanks as always! I'll have a look at Ionita tomorrow, but it's very likely no arrangements will be needed as your work is very good overall. --Quite A Character (talk) 00:08, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Ioniță done! A few topics regarding my edits now, for the future (and please note i did not unpipe names of clubs, out of respect for you); 1 - no need to make one-line paragraphs as the one present at the start of his Astra sub-section, adjustment there; 2 - his goal in the league cup, are you sure you cannot find a web or newspaper article on the match? I personally find match sheets as refs horrible, never use them myself; 3 - even though i wrote the word "defeat" in the Europa League match/goal, don't worry i did not vandalize, when you write "defeat OF X/Y team" it means the other team LOST; 4 - i removed the NT update field from the infobox because he is not eligible for the under-21 team anymore due to age so his international career is over for the moment, if/when he makes debut for A-team we'll re-add the update; 5 - not a stub anymore, so be sure to remove the stub template (usually found at the bottom of the page) when you improve article as you very well did again in this case, congratulations!

Happy weekend, take care --Quite A Character (talk) 20:33, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

  • I have added the ref for Ionita's debut for the nation. However, i had trouble with the first part of the sentence, maybe they are trying to do a word play with Contra's name that i did not understand. --Quite A Character (talk) 22:19, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Translation also needed for Cosmin Contra please, I have now started cleaning up his article. --Quite A Character (talk) 13:59, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

  • Ah, did not notice the overlinking! Will clean that up and add the translation :) Regarding the Contra article, in the intro it's preferrable to start saying that he was a former footballer and only then a current manager, after all 99,999999999999999% of the sportspeople "evolve" thay way.

Cheers, thanks! --Quite A Character (talk) 14:46, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Doubt

Hi there fellow user!

Do you happen to know if André Marques and Bernardo Tengarrinha actually signed a contract at Poli Iasi? In Marques' article, the source says he did sign. If they DID commit to the team and were released later, they must have the Romania-related categories back (except for the LIGA I PLAYERS one, of course), if it was only a trial, or if Marques was supposed to sign but then (for example) did not pass his medical they do not.

Cheers, thanks in advance --Quite A Character (talk) 15:03, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring, as you did at CSA Steaua București (football). Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Swarm 03:18, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:

I was just removing the fake information from the page which other users keep adding. Everything can be verified with UEFA and FRF sources, CSA Steaua owns 0 honours 8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 07:11, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

Decline reason:

This dispute has gone on too long and has wasted too much volunteer time, and those who take part in edit wars rather than constructive discussion get blocked. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 07:55, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Sad to hear about the block, happens to the best (i too was once blocked too with another account, due to not-very-civil summaries, so it was deserved in my case),

nice work on Man man :) I only performed minor actions, such as replacing size of dashes in references and such. Have a nice week, best! --Quite A Character (talk) 15:28, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

  • By the way, was looking for a source to mention G. Alves being captain at Petrolul/Astra (strange that you were never able to find one in Romanian when i asked you last year, of course i believe you 100% when you say you found nothing), found this (http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/historia/made-in/astra-giurgiu-o-inedito-campeao-da-romenia-tem-quatro-portugueses). It does not mention him being captain once, but at least: 1 - i sourced the league honour in the respective section (not ALL Astra players, just the four Portuguese ones); 2 - heard about this very strange movie-like story, seems we are talking about a regional league club instead of the Liga I champions of two seasons ago!

Cheers again --Quite A Character (talk) 16:04, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

  • About "regional club", i used the term to describe the situations in which Astra was involved in the article i just sent you (in Portuguese, don't know if you understand the language but it's quite interesting; but i imagine you already know the story), owner in jail, lack of hot water in showers, team bus breaking down, unpaid wages, etc... With these conditions, they still managed to be champions! --Quite A Character (talk) 17:17, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

99,99999999999999999999999% of the introduction at Budescu was quite accurate, i only performed minor tweaks (i.e. no need to mention rivalries in an encyclopedical article) --Quite A Character (talk) 01:40, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

  • Since i have no club, i don't feed idiotic rivalries. As most of the users editing here do have one, i suppose they do. You should see the state my football is in, especially the Sporting CP president, Bruno de Carvalho, he is nothing but a piece of trash, i can say with 100% of certainty he HATES S.L. Benfica and uses every platform available to show it (and the "sheep go with him")! And maybe you are interested in knowing more about the Apito Dourado affair? Pityful... --Quite A Character (talk) 19:11, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Kamer Qaka - Reply

Hello there, let's see if i can be of any help!

1 - i would write "Sarpsborg" in the box (or at least "Sarpsborg 08" in the box), full names i only write in intro/storyline you already know that.

2 - since it seems he only played football in Norway/Albania, then he should only have "Norwegian/Albanian footballers", nothing to do with Serbia/Kosovo footballwise. Then, if the category exists, "Albanian people of Serbian descent" or similar.

Cheers, take care --Quite A Character (talk) 19:47, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
