LTA Vandal[edit]

@MusikAnimal: Are you aware that this LTA Vandal is also evading a year long block placed on their account? Block evasion should be considered in this decision, I think. Please see [1] ScrpIronIV 18:40, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@ScrapIronIV and MusikAnimal: Yes, I have used the interaction analyser to compare the editing history of this IP address with the histories of a few IP addresses in the blocked range, and there is no doubt whatsoever about it. I shall increase the block length, and also look at the editing history of an IP range surrounding this one, to see if there is evidence of use of any other related IP addresses. Thank you, ScrapIronIV, for pointing it out. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 21:35, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesBWatson and MusikAnimal: Because these pages are on my watchlist, I have seen similar contributions from another range. Please see this[2] which is a week long block for a nearly identical editing pattern. This IP seems to hop along three separate ranges. I have been reverting on sight, because the changes are clearly vandalism. Changing call letters to different cities, changing logos, and templates for radio/tv - mostly Georgia stuff, but sometimes XM channels. ScrpIronIV 21:43, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@ScrapIronIV and MusikAnimal: I have found an IP range which includes this one, in which numerous IP addresses have been used by this vandal over a period of many months, and nobody else has used the range since February 2014, and up until then the range was rarely used, whereas more recently this vandal has frequently used it. Therefore, I am happy to apply a fairly long range block, confident that the risk of collateral damage is tiny compared to the benefit of removing another range for this vandal to use. I shall also reset the block on the other range to run for a full year from now. ScrapIronIV, I don't have time now to check the third range you mention, but I will try to get onto it tomorrow. If I haven't got back to you within 24 hours, please contact me again. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 21:48, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you; I will try to check in over the holiday weekend. I'll be sporadic at best until Monday. Cheers! ScrpIronIV 21:52, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
