Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at List of NBA players who have spent their entire career with one franchise. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 18:04, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I'm not sure if discussing with the editors involved would be effective. Every editor who has removed either Westbrook, Conley, or both from the list did so a single time. As a result, discussion with these editors would only stop them from making further changes—which they most likely wouldn't have done in the first place. There are already guidelines established on both the main page (in a hidden note) and the talk page that have been agreed upon in past seasons. The main issue here is that Westbrook and Conley are relatively-high profile players that are now on different teams.
- I'll try to tone down the reverts, but I'm not sure how to proceed here. Is there a good way to make these guidelines more notable for editors in a way that doesn't obstruct the page content? 400spartans (talk) 18:34, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
