Information icon Hello, Голос России. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Voice of Russia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. GabrielF (talk) 07:07, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I understand that you would like to change the text of the Wikipedia article on the Voice of Russia. I agree that the article should be improved, however, you need to be particularly careful in editing this article because of the inherent conflict of interest involved. I would strongly urge you to read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations, which will help your organization understand how to work with the Wikipedia community to edit this article. Please understand that we cannot allow organizations to have their own accounts - for copyright reasons each account must belong to an individual. However, if a member of your organization creates an account separately, you are welcome to edit. I highly recommend that instead of making major edits to the Voice of Russia article, you instead post at Talk:Voice of Russia. This is a page for editors to discuss the contents of the article. You should explain why you feel that the current text is problematic and suggest improvements. If you can provide sources documenting the information that you wish to change, that will greatly help the process. I and other editors will be happy to consider any suggestions that you wish to make. Please let me know if you have any questions. Best, GabrielF (talk) 07:24, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Voice of Russia, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Голос России", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. GabrielF (talk) 07:25, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Hello! Do I understand that I need to register on their behalf to make a change? I pr manager of radio "Voice of Russia", I was told to change the information about our company on a language pages. We want to provide information on all pages of the same type.

Yes, you will need to create an account for yourself as an individual, not in the name of your organization. Please see Wikipedia:BFAQ#ACCOUNT. Once you do that, I recommend discussing the changes you wish to make to the article at Talk:Voice of Russia. GabrielF (talk) 07:41, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
...since it appears to be a rather bold edit. Insulam Simia (talk) 07:46, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if I'm wrong edited the page, it's only from a misunderstanding of the principles of Wikipedia. Maybe you tell me how to be in this situation? Leaders instructed me to correct outdated information about the company on language Wikipedia pages, which sources I rely in this case? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Siliniek (talkcontribs) 09:20, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
