The Lewis & Clark Law Review (LCLR) is a general-purpose law review published by students at Lewis & Clark Law School. The journal contains articles and essays by professional legal scholars as well as student-written notes and comments. Lewis & Clark Law Review is the top-ranked law review in the Pacific Northwest, ranking among the top 5% of all law journals and the top 20% of general-interest law reviews.[2] It is one of there journals published by the school, alongside the Environmental Law and Animal Law Review.[3]

Overview[edit]

First founded as the Journal of Small and Emerging Business Law in 1996, and rededicated with a broader mission in Spring 2004, LCLR is a perennial top-50 law journal.[4] The Lewis & Clark Law Review ranked No. 43 among general-interest law reviews and No. 46 among all law reviews in the 2017 Washington & Lee citation rankings[5]

The Lewis & Clark Law Review is published four times per year and hosts an annual law symposium each fall.[6] The journal also publishes an online companion, the Lewis & Clark Law Review Online, which features articles that are shorter than traditional law review articles and focus on topics that are particularly relevant to Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.[7] It is edited entirely by students.

Admissions[edit]

The law review extends membership to students who finish in their first year class with GPAs in the top 15%. Students may also join the staff if they perform well in the "Summer Writing Competition."[8]
