In the past few days, you have reverted several changes made to The Velvet Underground by 143.239.215.33. Your changes seem very minor (substituting em dashes for en dashes, or replacing straight quotes with rounded ones, for example).

Please do not make such minor changes to Wikipedia articles without a very good reason. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz (Talk | contribs) 17:52, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Velvetron,

In the past few days, you've made several changes to the Cannabis article. They seem to be very good, please continue to make minor changes like these wherever you like - that's what I understand wikipedia to be all about. Having said that... I've changed some of them back - the health issues section particularly. It ended up saying that it's "alleged" there might be a "correlation" between cannabis use and psychosis. This is a controversial area (esp on wikipedia), but these claims are made by peer reviewed studies so I want to drop the "alleged", and the claims aren't generally to do with correlation - this has a specific statistical meaning - they're to do with other statistical tests. Let me know what you think here, there or on my talk page. --Dilaudid 23:17, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date links[edit]

Hi there. I see you're deleting links to dates in various places. Note that the links serve to allow the dates to be autoformatted based on the user's preference. See WP:MOSDATE#Autoformatting and linking. Have a nice day. --PEJL 08:38, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop delinking bold date links. These allow date preferences to work for the titles of date articles. If they are delinked then the user's date preferences will not work for those titles. I agree that multiple bolds is unsightly, but that is a problem with the MediaWiki software. You are creating another problem by delinking them. I assure that other editors will relink them later. The Template:Linked-title discourages well meaning robots and people from delinking title dates. — Joe Kress (talk) 09:03, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chicago Meetup[edit]

I am not sure if you live in Chicagoland, but I see you have edited Chicago quite a bit. If you are not from Chicago I apologize for the following message. A Chicago Meetup has been scheduled. I hope the time and place are convenient. Your reply would be appreciated.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 20:00, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

just a suggestion...[edit]

I've seen you've been doing good work on homosexuality, so I thought I'd be nosy and give you a small bit of advice. Even though we are admonished to assume good faith at all times and not bite the newcomers, sometimes edits or opinions will be treated with less respect if it is visually obvious that you are a newbie. So even if you don't care to add anything to your user page (you can redirect it your talk page) I suggest simply hitting the save button on the page without adding anything so as to make it not appear as a red link. Scotland - a nation apart[edit]

Hi there - saw your edits to Scotland regarding the distances to nearby nations. Do you have a specific source for this information? Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 16:56, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps we have different browsers - I replaced the 'hyphens' with minus signs but the edit history shows no change. A reply to the above would be appreciated. Ben MacDuiTalk/Walk 18:21, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for doing all the tedious markup work. It should really help getting the article up to FA standard. Serendipodous 13:31, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia cleanup[edit]

Hi Velvetron, I'm trying to clean up our trivia, but it's an enormous task. Are you still interested? - Tbsdy lives (formerly Ta bu shi da yu) talk 04:49, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent job on Theatre of Pompey[edit]

The grammer cleanup was well needed it appears. I would only chnage one thing and that is where you changed cavea to caves and I did mean cavea as in seating. Is "caves" a reference to the underground.--Amadscientist (talk) 07:39, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
