Bio[edit]

Hello,My name is Bryan. I live in the state of Washington. I used to live in Texas before I moved to Washington. It has been around 2 1/2 years since I moved from Texas. I got very accustomed to living here, and realized I can do way better here. When I was little I grew up as an obese kid. I would have gotten bullied sometimes due to the fact on how big I was. Once I started football, I started to lose a lot of weight. After football I started weight lifting. A coach(s) showed me how to properly lift weight so that I wouldn't get hurt. Weightlifting was starting to become a hobby. I kept weight lifting for a very long time, and till this day I am still weightlifting. I hope to start a career in the future that involves weight lifting.

There would be many things that I would love to search and write about on Wikipedia, but the one thing that I would most certainly write about is in relation to weightlifting. Surely there are many pages on Wikipedia that have to do with weightlifting. There should be information on Wikipedia that I already know, but in a deeper format. I would consider of writing my own page having to do with weightlifting. Another topic that I would also consider searching and writing about would be about bodybuilding. Bodybuilding does also correlate to weightlifting, but there is more to it than just weightlifting. Bodybuilding is a mystery topic. These two topics are what I would consider to search up and write about.

Article Critique[edit]

Lifting weights has been a hobby of mine for the past 4 years. With my lifting weights hobby, I have grown an interest in bodybuilding[1], and have taken a part in it. I had done past research of bodybuilding before, but I turned to a Wikipedia page, over bodybuilding, to see what more I could learn. After visiting the bodybuilding page on Wikipedia, I found three aspects worth commenting on: popularity of the sport from then to now, what people think when they hear "bodybuilding", and what has evolved within the sport.

Popularity[edit]

Bodybuilding is now loved by many people throughout the world. People now partake in the sport, and even encourage it to become greater than what it already is. There are books, games, and fitness you-tubers that partake in bodybuilding and give life to the sport. A director, named Vlad Yudin[2], made a documentary called Generation Iron 2[3]. In the documentary, he goes over how bodybuilding's popularity has grown significantly over the past years, and how it has impacted the sport. In the Wikipedia page of bodybuilding, popularity of the sport is not covered nor the popularity growth of sport throughout time is covered. That being said, popularity should had been covered.

"Bodybuilding" now[edit]

When people are asked what bodybuilding is, people normally think of these mass monsters on a stage posing to judges, according to a social experiment in the documentary Generation Iron 3 [4]. Each person has their own mindset of what bodybuilding is, and how it works. In the bodybuilding Wikipedia page there seems to be no signs of the view of the people to bodybuilding meaning that while being a topic worth talking about, it was missed in the bodybuilding Wikipedia page.

Evolution[edit]

Since the time bodybuilding was invented till this day, bodybuilding has changed drastically. Everything starts out small, but throughout time it gets bigger and bigger. Bodybuilding started out as just some game for men, but soon changed to a sport worth competing in. Winning a rank, earning insane amounts of money, earning respect, and getting noticed are all outcomes of bodybuilding now. Back then, bodybuilding was just a game to people. The evolution of bodybuilding is not mentioned in the bodybuilding Wikipedia page, when it would be something worth putting out there.

Summary[edit]

The bodybuilding article gives out good information over what bodybuilding is, what bodybuilders do, how bodybuilders train, how did bodybuilding start, the timeline of bodybuilding, other forms of bodybuilding, and what happens during the process of bodybuilding, but these are just the basics the article gives out of bodybuilding. The article does not go in depth into bodybuilding such as how bodybuilding is growing or how it has impacted society. There are many bits of information that is worth putting on there. This page would be fantastic to learn about the basics of bodybuilding, but not to go in depth of.
