Amir Sjarifuddin Harahap (EVO: Amir Sjarifoeddin Harahap; 27 April 1907 – 19 December 1948) was an Indonesian politician and journalist who served as the second prime minister of Indonesia from 1947 until 1948. A leftist,

Born to a noble family in Medan, Amir studied law at the Rechts Hogeschool in Batavia, during which time he became deeply involved in the nationalist movement. After graduating, he worked as a lawyer and helped to establish the Indonesian People's Movement (Gerindo), a nationalist political party, in 1937. He argued that Japanese fascism was a greater danger to Indonesia than Dutch colonialism and organized an underground resistance movement against the Japanese occupation. He was arrested in 1943 and sentenced to death by the Japanese, but was spared through the intercession of Sukarno. Following the proclamation of Indonesian Independence in 1945, he became Minister of Information and co-founded the Socialist Party with Sutan Sjahrir.
