Manuel L. Quezon

President Quezon's Speech of the Policies and Achievements of the Government and Regeneration of the Filipino[edit]

Quezon was the only man to be referred to as president and to be saluted with a nineteen-gun salute. He considered the future nature of the Philippine polity and its leadership as he looked forward to twenty-one firearms. Quezon was at the pinnacle of his power, and the Japanese threat, while palpable, was still sixteen months away from being a full-fledged invasion. He denounced dictatorships, including proletariat dictatorships, and praised Lincolnian democracy, "of, by, and for the people." This rhetorical opening was followed by a series of sallies against old ideas about the scope of governments, which emphasized too much the sacredness of property and contracts while ignoring too little the social obligations of men living under the same system.

The part of the speech of Manuel Quezon that I found most interesting is the part where he talked about the character of a Filipino that will be the support system of the strength as a nation. It's really true that a nation will not succeed without the help of the people. We really should start with ourselves. Build our strengths and let our weaknesses fade for us to be strong and there will be no doubts with who and what we are.

• Manuel L. Quezon want to his country to be respected, and he also want to fight for our country, but he recognize that Filipino was not strong because of there army however the Filipino was strong with their dignity and trust for there country. Manuel L. Quezon was an intelligent man, he knows what are the best for our country and family so he became a president.[1][2]

REFLECTION about the speech

• Manuel L. Quezon is Worried in the Filipinos that suffers and had struggles in political issues and their status that can not solve by the government. He also worried about the people while in war, for a fight for freedom our nation produced men of great worth and character. While in that time we are engagee of danger for that I salute the love upon the Filipino people and on to the Phillipines.
