The Symphony No. 1 in E minor, Op. 39, is a four-movement work for orchestra written from 1898 to 1899 by the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
In 1900, in preparation for the Finnish music program at the Paris World Exhibition, he revised the symphony. (the original version does not survive, although a complete draft score made during the revision process is extant).[1]
