Typing Unicode characters

Lately I have been running into problems in writing things in strange characters - like polytonic Greek or Sanskrit diacritics - not just on Wikipedia but all over windows and also my mother's apple mac. I am currently looking into creating my own unicode keyboard layouts as the best solution. Here are some useful tools and downloads:
