WGSS Article evaluations[edit]

Genderqueer[edit]

Queer Folks at a protest event

Genderqueer article possibly under-represented the viewpoints of folks who identify as genderqueer. I read through some comments on the talk page, and it is difficult to know, and there seems to be much discussion around what identities should be grouped under the umbrella term, genderqueer. Also, from what I can see the page does not appear to have been updated recently.

Exploitation of Women In Mass Media[edit]

Exploitation of women in mass media article has several resources cited from a sociological and feminist framework. I do not know if this would make the article biased since it is citing work that corroborates and elaborates on the exploitation through a feminist lens. There is a small section on counter-arguments, which balances the article but compared to the details about the harmful effects argued through different forms of mass media. However, everything appears to be relevant to the article. The article is part of several WikiProjects, like Gender Studies, Feminism, WOmen’s HIstory and Media.

Feminism[edit]

Feminism article is rated as a "good" article. It is thoroughly developed and covers a significant portion of the history of feminism. It approaches feminism through several frameworks, including but not limited to science, culture, and politics. All of the viewpoints appear to be equally represented, and there is also a section that discusses anti-feminism and criticism of feminism. However, this section might be under-represented, in which case one might argue that it is not entirely a neutral article. Additionally, after clicking on a few links in the article, some of them link back to other Wikipedia pages as sources. Is linking back to other Wikipedia pages considered a quality citation or reliable reference?
