Umar Alisha Sahithi Samithi, has been started in Bhimavaram, West godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. It is Regularly conducting literary seminars every year on the 23rd of February to commemorate the Death Anniversay of Kavisekahara Dr Umar Alisha who is a great poet and scholar.

Literature originates from life and life from literature. Both are inseparable twins with this objective. "Umar Alisha Sahithi Samithi" was started in Bhimavaram, West Godavari District on 1995-01-23. Every year on 23rd January seminars are being conducted for the development of literature under the sponsor ship of UARDT.[1]
1999[edit]
In the Literary Programme held 1999-01-23 Sri Yerra Narayana Swamy ,Member of the Parliament, Bhimavaram , Sri.D.V.S.Chandraji, The chairman of Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust(UARDT) Dr Umar Alisha, Professor Kolakaluri Enak, Vice Chancellor, Sri Venkateswara University,Tirupathi, Professor S.M.Iqbal,Department of Hindi Andhra University,Visakhapatnam and Professor(Retired) Dr.K.Venkata Rama Raju, D.N.R. College Bhimavaram have participated.
