This page is for discussion of the functionality of a possible bot to assist with administrative tasks on the WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors page.

Possible functions are listed below. In summary:

1. Old requests report. A list of the oldest 20 requests, sorted by age.
2. Longest tag report. A list of the 20 articles that have been tagged longest with {{copyedit}}
3. Backlog count. A count of the backlog, with two subcounts: requests and tags.

Old requests report

A list of the 20 oldest requests for copyediting, found at WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests sorted by age.

1. Oldest request
2. Second oldest request

E.g.

1. John Doe 19:13, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
2. Jane Doe 17:13, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Longest tag report

A list of the 20 longest tagged articles with {{copyedit}} tags, which are listed by that tag template at Category:All articles needing copy edit, sorted by length of time they've had the tag.

1. Longest tagged article
2. Second longest tagged article

E.g.

1. John Doe 19:13, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
2. Jane Doe 17:13, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Backlog count

Produce a daily report formatted like this:

<date> -- <a> articles outstanding; <r> requests outstanding; <t> tags outstanding

Example:

19 Apr 2007 20:00 -- 7654 articles outstanding; 664 requests outstanding; 6990 tags outstanding
