I am a user who had no prior contact with Metamagician3000. I emailed the address provided via his userpage, and received back an email identifying who he was and providing me with a web page at a reputable university that identified him and provided a public email address. By way of both the cv on his web page and identifying information in a number of academic journals (accessessed today via Google Scholar), I confirmed that he is indeed a PhD.
