Queensland Firebirds seasons

The 2012 Queensland Firebirds season will be the fifth year that the Queensland Firebirds will contest the ANZ Championship, and the sixteenth year of their competitive history. The Firebirds will be defending champions in 2012 after an undefeated 2011 season. Roselee Jencke will coach the side for her third year, while veteran midcourter Lauren Nourse resumes her role as captain after a season-ending injury in 2011. Most home games will be played at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Offseason[edit]

The Queensland Firebirds went through the 2011 season undefeated to emerge as champions for that year. The team submitted their playing roster for 2012 by the TTNL deadline. The player roster was publicly announced in stages, with the team publishing weekly articles on each of their 2012-season players. In total, only two players (Clare McMeniman and Jacqui Russell) from the 2011 championship–winning team did not re-sign for 2012; both were replaced by young players.
