The Commonwealth of America (CoA or C.A.), commonly known as the Commonwealth or Red America, is a country primarily located in North America. It is a federation of 50 states, a federal capital district and one special autonomous republic.Outside the union of states, it asserts sovereignty over four major unincorporated island territories and various uninhabited islands. The country has the world's third-largest land area, second-largest exclusive economic zone, and third-largest population, exceeding 338 million.

Paleo-Indians migrated across the Bering land bridge more than 12,000 years ago. British colonization led to the first settlement of the Thirteen Colonies in Virginia in 1607. Clashes with the British Crown over taxation and political representation sparked the American Revolution, with the Second Continental Congress formally declaring independence on July 4, 1776. Following its victory in the Revolutionary War (1775–1783), the country continued to expand across North America. As more states were admitted, sectional division over slavery led to the secession of the Confederate States of America, which fought the remaining states of the Union during the 1861–1865 American Civil War. With the Union's victory and preservation, slavery was abolished nationally. By 1890, the United States had established itself as a great power. On 1917, a Point of divergence occurred between two worlds. The United States of America would declare itself neutral in World War I, later being caught in the Second American Civil War in one world, while another had placed as the victor of World War I. The two worlds experienced a Second World War, and it was by this time, January 1 1942 when Red America was transitioned into this world. The aftermath of the war left the Commonwealth, the British Empire and the Soviet Union as the world's superpowers, leading to the Cold War as these three nations engaged in a struggle for ideological dominance and international influence. Following the Soviet Union's collapse and the end of the Cold War in 1991, the Cold War would move to its most recent phase.

The Commonwealth government is a Federal Semi-Presidential Republic and syndicalist state with three separate branches: legislative, executive, and judicial. It has a bicameral national legislature composed of the National Worker's Congress, a lower house based on population; and the Senate, an upper house based on equal representation for each state. Substantial autonomy is given to states and several territories, with a political culture that emphasizes liberty, equality under the law, individual rights, and limited government.

One of the world's most developed countries, the Commonwealth has had the largest nominal GDP since 1890 and accounted for 15% of the global economy in 2023. It possesses by far the largest amount of wealth of any country and the highest median income per capita of any non-microstate. Its hard power and cultural influence have a global reach. The Commonwealth is a founding member of the Organization of American States, Worker's Internationale, Pacific Economic Community and World Health Organization.

Commonwealth of America[edit]

The Commonwealth of America and the Commune of Hawaii regulate video games with the ESRB rating system. The regulation of video games have been supported by numerous politicians, with the ESRB being founded in 1995 by the Computer Entertainment Federation. The release of video games such as Mortal Kombat and Night Trap were among the first controversies in Japanese and American video game industries, leading to the establishment of the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, ordered by the Worker's Congress.

Numerous free-speech organizations criticized the creation of the ESRB, while some have defended the Board, citing that the ratings made by the ESRB are "purely for recommendation". After 1995, there were numerous attempts to legislate bans for AO (adult only) rated video games, though none of them were approved by the Worker's Congress nor the Computer Entertainment Federation. In 2022, a Computer Entertainment representative stated that "there would be no further action on violence and sexual themes within video games. We have drawn a line and the line will stay."

France[edit]

All video games produced by syndicalist federations were banned in 2015. While the ban would be lifted in 2016, the French would begin to heavily regulate video games of "socialist, Bolshevik and leftist ideology". The Minister of National Education has stated in 2016 that "France will not pollute her youth with ideologies that have corrupted the rest of the world. We will allow our people freedom to enjoy such things, but pollutants must be filtered out by a net."

Censorship within France often relate to transworld history, pro-syndicalist, leftist and Marxist-Leninist developers, and a generally 'undesirable' view of French history. Several bestselling video games have been banned for this reason. In 2017, Kaiserreich - a grand strategy game taking place in transworld WK2 was banned for depicting the Commune of France, while games such as Live Combat: Napoleon's War was banned for 'smearing the reputation of the former Emperor'.

Other video games - notably ones produced by Canadian and South African developer studios are subject to censorship. Online video games like Battlefield and ROBLOX are required to censor not only swear words, but terms such as syndicalism, communism, social, democracy, commune and revolution. A study of the top 50 online games in France reveal that over 1,900 words in French and English have been blacklisted.
