Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art

First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

WikiProject Neutrality

I'm not sure that the project is active anymore. If you have concerns about an article, there are several things you can do. First is to broach your concerns on the article talk page and attempt to discuss your concerns. If that is unsuccessful, you can ask for a request for comments on the dispute, make a posting to biography of living persons noticeboard or perhaps open a dispute mediation if other efforts haven't addressed your concerns. I don't ask questions unless I want to know the answer. ;) It's unclear whether you are directly responding to me, or stating a general opinion...that's what I wanted cleared up. FTR- It's been my experience that if you speak about specific problems, you can get some movement from the editors on the talkpage. I was able to reorder the article to at least have some logical flow. I know its not much, but it was a start. Most of the editors there will listen to any ideas you have for improvement. On Saturday January 15, 2011, Wikipedia will turn 10 years and people all over the globe will be celebrating Wikipedia on that day. I understand how that can happen and how it feels. However, people do get busy and occasionally need a reminder. It is a side effect of having people from so many different places working together; people are always sleeping, having dinner, or whatnot. You may want to read about Wikipedia administrators, especially about administrator failability.

"Administrators are expected to follow Wikipedia policies and to perform their duties to the best of their abilities. Occasional mistakes are entirely compatible with adminship; administrators are not expected to be perfect."

Being busy or late to reply is not a major problem, even for administrators. It takes patience, especially when dealing with stuff on talk pages. (Commons is even worse; one request for deletion can take months) Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:39, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

You should add User:Xenocidic/statusChanger2.js to this page or your vector skin file, which will allow you to change your status semi-automatically. You should also create User:Lighthead/status, which will allow the script to work properly. IDM Tags

I did, way back, when it was a mess, have since tried to pull it together, to reflect accepted history of the scene (from a UK perspective), but cites are missing, and the overview is still POV until additional references are found for a few paragraphs that lack any significant support. If I had more time I would deal with it, but until someone pulls out enough sources to substantiate the version of events on the page, i would leave the tags there.--Semitransgenic (talk) 10:03, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

yes, if i see entire paragraphs, sections etc. that lack citations, i place a tag up top, rather than riddling it with fact tags. not that i'm aware of, I don't use them. Unless, the case is that you link to them from your user page using a banner, which I have seen guys do for various things, then there is something else required that I haven't ever used, haven't sat down to figure that one out yet. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. Why do you keep reverting my changes on the 311 article? That page has the wrong information. Dammit! and Unity are not studio albums, they're independent releases and they were recorded independently but they're still not studio albums, so therefore they have released 9 studio albums not 11.
