Aarios AG is a Swiss bicycle manufacturer and framebuilder from Gretzenbach in Canton of Solothurn.

History[edit]

Founded in 1930 in the town of Aarau, hence its name, the small company moved to nearby Gretzenbach in 1981. Since then, Aarios is the only industrial framebuilder that has kept its production in Switzerland.

Products[edit]

The company's activity in the last decades has been centered on bicycles for everyday life, touring and travel. Other products include kick scooters. Tandems and mopeds have been discontinued. The majority of frames are made of CroMo steel, with the exception of a few carbon and aluminum frames (one model each in Aarios' 2009 catalogue^[1]). Frames are handmade and custom powder coated in Gretzenbach. Unlike most bicycles delivered to bike-shops, Aarios' are assembled at the factory.
