Female budgerigar and her chick

Introduction[edit]

Hello I'm just starting out on wikipedia. I am really looking forward to learning the ropes and contributing to this community.

Many interventions can be taken to prevent poor health outcomes in many different settings. Clinician intervention in smoking cessation has been shown to be very effective in causing smoking cessation in their patients.

Data[edit]

Tobacco is the largest preventable cause of death and disease in the United States. Cigarette smoking alone kills 480,000 people in the Unites States every year. In addition, smoking-related illness costs more than 300 billion dollar every year.

Statistics[edit]

Despite the increased awareness in the dangers of cigarette smoking many are still engaging in the deadly behavior. 7.8% of those aged 18-24 engage in smoking cigarettes and 16.5% of those aged 25-44 engage in smoking cigarettes.

Diseases:[edit]
  • Cancer
  • COPD
  • Asthma
  • Ulcerative cholitis
  • Cushings disease

Conclusion[edit]

Smoking is still a big concern and has not gone away despite it being well known that there are many bad health outcomes that can result from smoking such as lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and increased cardiovascular risks to name a few.

My Example Citation[edit]

Some people refer to budgies by their full name (budgerigars), and some call them parakeets.[1]
