Wikipedia has too much power.
Wikipedia has garnered an ability to set the 'truth' in mainstream media and blogs that consult it every day, without digging deeper to verify facts from independent sources. Controversial Wikipedia pages suffer from "ownership" by content bullies who drive off independent editors, all supported by administrator cabals who follow one another around, supporting reverted edits and editor blocks and bans. Wikipedia creates a monoculture of knowledge that is little different than a farmer who would make the mistake of planting just one type of crop, year after year.

You know wikipedia is profoundly flawed when bands like Faith & the Muse and Corpus Delicti are scrubbed from the List of gothic rock bands page and watered down pseudo-metal like Evanescence and Marilyn Manson, indie rock bands like Interpol and psychedelic rock band The Doors are "sourced" and firmly lodged in this horrific excuse for a list Gothic bands and any attempt to correct the problem results in hounding, so-called "warnings" and ridiculous accusations of sock puppetry. That's mob mentality for you. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. You deserve them.
