Question[edit]

Joy: A few months ago (July, 2005) I tried to get a listing on wikipedia for my company, WMH, LLC. It was rejected as being non notable. Now, every time a search is made, people see that critique.

PLEASE REMOVE MY COMPANY NAME FROM YOUR SERVERS. MY INTENTION WAS TO CREATE A POSITIVE LISTING. INSTEAD, THERE IS A CHILDISH, UN-PROFESSIONAL RESIDUAL.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me at:

Capitals in title[edit]

Hi, I've just created a new article for the animal rights group Compassion Over Killing. However, because i didn't use any capitals when it typed it into the search and clicked create, the only capital is the C in compassion. It just doesn't look right at all. Is there any way in which I can change it? Archer7 20:20, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

Joy, i would sincerely like to appologize for my actions by posting on the HIM band article. I believed that a cirtain individual would truly think twice before she threw my CD off the school and effectively rendering it several grams of pointless plastic. I hoped that she would have the curiosity to look at her favorite bands article because they are some of the best articles that i have seen in my entire searching for a good one. I would have just personaly looked at System Of A Down as they are my favorite band and this was the CD that was lost to her destructive ways. I hoped my posts would help her change her actions and possibly appologize. I do believe that i can be a effective editor in the creation of new un explored articles and in the editing of in acurate ones if you allowed me to do so. Will you?

Homocuriosus and Noncuriosus[edit]

I am about to post the homocuriosus article and i just finished the noncuriosus article, if that is what you mean. If you are asking were i got my information it was from speaking with a shrink for kids yesterday.

I am about to post the hederocuriosus article and i just finished the noncuriosus article, if that is what you mean. If you are asking were i got my information it was from speaking with a shrink for kids yesterday.

Hi Joy. I came across this and had a quick look. Spelling aside, I can't find anything really related (although I have no qualifications in the field)... --Bookandcoffee 22:03, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

Joy, I came across these articles as well. I wasn't able to find any references to the terms in Google or even in PubMed. Maybe they are more commonly spelled "Homocurious" and "Noncurious." Perhaps a {{not verified}} tag is in order. —Brim 22:32, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

do you know of a published source[edit]

I'm sorry i don't. I believe the terms are relatively new ones but the principles have been circling around for a long time.

  • Dear Madame Stovall,

I would like to write you a poem that i think will nicely sum up my feelings:

There was a young lady called Joy, Who used to be a boy, but she was feeling so sick, that they cut off her dick, and now she is a big, smelly wanker with no sense of humour and nothing better to do with her time than patrol wikipedia.

PS. someone has vandalised your page. They put in this hilarious addition that you were soon to be married! I did piss myself when i read it! Oh the hilarity, to think, someone marrying a person as dull a you! why they must be crackers!

You may have deleted my articles, but I will come back with more IPs, more proxies and greater vandalism than you have ever seen. HAHAHA DAMN YOU DAMN YOU TO HELL

You're welcome! It's triply satisfying for me as I've only just been made an admin--this is only my third use of the rollback button. But oh, how I do like it. =) --Dvyost 22:06, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

vandalism?[edit]

Surely chopping off a relevant half of an article is vandalism, no? Moreso than reverting it in any case.

    • I'm not sure what you're referring to. The edits I'm currently objecting to are the creation of the inappropriate redirects. Joyous (talk) 03:55, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

redirects[edit]

The redirects are completely relevant, as they are the context the term is most often used in. Surely you don't believe they justify their own articles?

User:69.141.234.4[edit]

Can you block them? You gave them a "last warning" and they made this vandalism afterwards. Thanks. Superm401 | Talk 04:27, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

hi

What are you talking about?[edit]

This is the second time this has happened to me being accused of filddling or vandalising articles when i haven't is it possible cause i have an aol account someome is doing it my name or accessing it cause i have never given the password to anyone and i never log out of wikipedia as its on my own computer

  • I'm answering here because I'm not sure you'll see my response anywhere else. Yes, the problem is that you're editing anonymously from an AOL account. AOL doesn't give its users static IP addresses; you may use a different IP address every time you load a new page. Other users may use the one that you're using currently, so AOL users often get "stop vandalizing" messages that were actually intended for other people. If you find this to be a frequent problem, you're encouraged to start an account here, rather than editing anonymously. It's free, and just takes a few seconds to register. Joyous (talk) 05:26, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm on ecstasy and was explaining how you can edits anyone's site to make them love Wikipedia. I won't bother you anymore and appreciate your contributions to wikipedia. I won't change Bill Clintons page anymore any appreciate what you are doing to keep this site clean. I would have fixed all the stuff I had changed but you got to it before me. Moral of the story. Hello![edit]

Just thought I'd come by and say "hi"! --HappyCamper 02:15, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

I may make this one of my last edits for the day. Wikipedia is so slow for me at the moment - I had to wait almost 3 minutes to edit your page! Anyway, I thought to invite you to this page to look at how the game has evolved from its first game to now. It's quite a nice sanctuary on Wikipedia. There are also two "secrets" on the current page, but I'll leave those two for you to find out at your leisure. Have a great day! --HappyCamper 02:26, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

User blocked[edit]

Hello! At your leisure, I wonder if you could help me investigate something. KnowledgeOfSelf apparently is blocked, but there is no underlying IP in the block log which corresponds to the message s/he is getting. It is quite possible that the problem has already resolved itself, but I was wondering if you could be a second pair of eyes to look at it - just in case I missed something in the block log. There is some information about that at the bottom of his talk page, and at the bottom of WP:AN. There's no rush to it, but it would be good if we can help get this Wikipedian back up and editing. Thanks for your help! (And please let me know how it turns out if you find anything) --HappyCamper 04:37, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Amadou Konte[edit]

Hello, Forbsey. I've seen your name around on some of the Scottish football articles, so I've come for your help. I'm located in the U.S, and I'm pretty ignorant of American football, so you can perhaps imagine my ignorance of Scottish football. Even I can see, though, that Amadou Konte is very bad. Shockingly bad. An anon user is using it as his personal playground. I keep wanting to revert things back to a clean version, even a clean stubby version, but there's not anything like that in the history. I've done a little research myself, but, as I said, my ignorance prevents me from really understanding what I'm reading. Could you come up with a small clean factual few sentences to replace the mess? Joyous | Talk 18:48, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Hey. You were right, most of the content was complete rubbish. I have cleaned up the article and added related stub and categories. Thanks for pointing this out to me (I like to keep the articles relating to Scottish Football up-to--date and accurate. Thanks again Forbsey 19:12, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

Re: Corpse Humping[edit]

I do believe it is too trivial to be placed in its own article, especially since it applies only to Halo multiplayer. You should probably merge it into the multiplayer section of Halo: Combat Evolved since that's where it was first discovered.--Zxcvbnm 00:03, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Just another question Joy, is there a list of articles that are requested? just to see what i can help with thanks

Franz Hemingbeck[edit]

I don't think it's worth trying to keep it, no. It's actually a copyvio from [2], so it can either be nn-bio'd or taken to WP:CP (and watchlisted...). From reading the webpage, I don't think he'd survive AfD, since he appears only to be self-published online with no updates for >1 year. -Splashtalk 01:01, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

I suppose there is something that edges into an assertion of note...depends how brave you feel, I suppose. As for copyvios with permission, we're trying out a new scheme. Blank them and list them as usual, but still AfD them with a clear message that you think the article is deletable whether or not we get permission. And give a permalink to the pre-blanked version. There's some chat on Wikipedia talk:Copyright problems#A suggestion to start clearing "claims permission". So that might be the best course of action. -Splashtalk 01:10, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

Define please[edit]

Joy,

I noticed that you recently removed a couple of contributions to the "Barrington Hall" page on the basis of "nonsense" and "most obvious silliness." Would you define these terms as-applied to those contributions please?

The Golden Throne[edit]

Please return the Golden Throne information to that of 15NOV05. Editing away the core of the forum(and thus, the site's) history in such a manner is neither required nor desired.

Thank you.

Golden-Throne - again[edit]

Hi. As the author of the Golden-Throne entry, I would like to query the lengthy edit that was made to the entry. I did not feel that the editing was justified, since the information presented was the core of information related to the forum, and the information was under constant review by members of the forum through me. The information we decided to enter was discussed at length before being added, and I did in fact turn away a great deal of data as being irrelevant or non-interesting.

I understand that the entry may be considered unimportant due to it being 'simply a load of forum-related nonsense' but the sections presented were, in our opinion, the core of what made the forum what it is today. When the Wiki can contain three or four chapters (with pictures and links to OTHER linked articles) on a transient boy band or the like, I don't see why a popular internet forum with a vibrant and active life should not be allowed to have a slightly more detailed entry.

I noted during a review of the changes that it seems that a lot of changes were made to the main entry that I was unaware of. These will, of course, be omitted in a re-edited version.

Can you please contact me in person to discuss this editing and perhaps a compromise that will allow some of the content to be reinstated. Please contact me via my email address dave(at)hughesd(dot)co(dot)uk.

Thank you for your time.
