Before we being, there are a few points I want to make:

Despite the name of the program, I will not be "coaching" you for adminship, as RFA is not an exam. I will be asking you questions, but the attitude and application of policy/guideline is just as important as the actual answer, and I hope to see an explanation for most of the "single word" answers, as this indicates how much you understand. There is often no single "right answer"!
You do not necessarily need to leave me a message saying you have completed something on this page (although you are welcome to do so, of course), as this page will be on my watchlist. However, if you see that I have not responded on this page within about a week of your last edit, do feel free to remind me!
If you are going to be away for more than a week, just let me know so I will know that you are not ignoring this page or have given up! Real life being what it is, things may prevent you continuing—just let me know as a courtesy!
This may seem a bit self-important, but if I am going to mentor you, then I would not expect you to go for RfA, unless I am the nominee! If someone else approaches you, then ask them to contact me about being a co-nominee—I have no problems with that.
If you have any questions, or disagree with something I say, please tell me! I will not always get things right, and as an admin, I've made mistakes.

What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I mainly intend to focus on AIV, UAA, CSD, AfD as I've already got some experience in these fields.
What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: Articles: Dark Fall: Lost Souls, it's not great but it's my first attempt to write an article. Images: I've uploaded 2 images to commons, both related to hematology. The first image File:Cabotsringbody.jpg is now used on two other wiki's besides en.wiki.
Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I've been involved a few minor conflicts, e.g.. over article names (Icelandic loan guarantees referendum comes to mind). Nothing that really caused me stress. If something related to the conflict gets to me I just leave it for a bit, do something else and return after some time has passed and try to look at things from another angle.
Additional question by Reaper Eternal: Do you want to be an administrator when RFA is called "a feculent sinkhole of hatred and rage", and adminship "hell"? Why are you interested in going through something I have equated to a college frat hazing event?
- A: I'd like to be able to help maintaining wikipedia more directly. I know RfA is "a feculent sinkhole of hatred and rage" but it's currently the only process available to become an admin. It's a challenge, but one I think I can endure.

Yes to all. UAA as part of Afc reviewing and NPP-ing, AIV nowadays mainly via my watchlist and random article reading. I filed some SPI cases. Don't really know how many.

Had an editor review(s)?

No.

Used editing tools? (e.g. Huggle, Twinkle, HotCat, AWB, user scripts)

I tried Huggle and HotCat, but don't use them anymore. I generally use twinkle for warning, rolling back vandalism etc. Haven't used AWB. I employ a userscript for AfC reviewing and I sometimes use Kissle for NPP.

!Voted in an AFD?

Nominated, voted, commented and even closed a couple. I used to keep a list, but it got a bit long after a while.

Have you written any recognized content like good articles, featured articles, or featured lists?

Unfortunately not. My 1 live article is a Start class article (low importance). I'm attempting to write a few more, but progression is slow.

Okay, thanks for taking the time to answer these! The only information I still have to ask for is links to your dispute resolution endeavors. I'm interested in seeing how you did. I would encourage you to get at least one article up to GA status before an RFA. While it's not mandatory, having a good article, featured article, or featured list is normally very helpful in indicating that you understand Wikipedia's policies and understand what Wikipedia is about.

Your meta philosophies are interesting, since they almost exactly match mine. I tend to describe myself as more of an "encyclopedist" than anything else—I tend to think that articles on more encyclopedic topics like tropical depressions and archaeological sites are more deserving of Wikipedia articles than plastic-suited cartoon characters. What are your favorite/best contributions to Wikipedia?
Small fixes, small additions, my 2 images & 1 article.
Do you tend to concentrate on any one article type to edit?
Not specifically. I've got a wide range of interests.
What percentage of the time do you spend fighting vandalism compared to just editing encyclopedic content?
20%. Less than it used to be, mainly vandalism reverts from pages on my watchlist.
What weaknesses do you see in yourself?
Sometimes I use too much text to explain something that could have been explained with a single sentence.
Why do you enjoy editing Wikipedia?
Contributing in my own small way just feels rewarding.

Read up on: SPI, Misc. cases via AN/I, blocking non-standard cases. Avoid: nothing I hope.

These will shape the way I run through this mentoring program. (I'll still cover everything, just your areas of interest will receive greater coverage. Blocking[edit]

General blocking questions[edit]

When would it be appropriate to decline a request at WP:AIV? See this AIV report for an example.
If a user hasn't been warned enough (and the vandalism is not really serious eg. adding libellous information or creating attack pages) or if the vandalism appears to be a new user trying to edit for the first time (assuming good faith).
Should you ever unblock yourself?
According to policy: never
That is correct. However, nobody is going to complain about unblocking yourself under circumstances like these. (It's a lot easier to do than you might think.)
What steps should you take when blocking a user on WP:AIV?
Check whether the report is correct, check if the user is still vandalizing wikipedia (or was until very recently). If so: block the user and leave a block message at their talk page. If not: remove the report as stale.
I would normally leave an {{AIV|s}} beneath the report to notify the reporter, however, why the user wasn't blocked. Other than that, that's exactly what any admin should do.
When should "cool down blocks" be used?
According to policy: never (except when the editor is being disruptive as well.)
Yep! In the case of the disruption, the block is for the disruption, not the hot-headedness.
Another administrator blocks a user, but you disagree with the block. What do you do?
Contact the blocking admin on his talkpage and discuss the block. If the discussion fails and I still feel the block was wrong, I'd take it to WP:AN.
Yes.
You come across a vandalbot while patrolling for vandalism. After immediately blocking it, what steps do you take?
Roll-back the changes made by the bot and make a mention of the vandalbot at ANI.
Remember that as an administrator you can perform "bot rollback", which is what you should do in the case of a rapidly editing vandalbot.
If unsure about making a block, what should you do?
Ask an experienced admin for input or take it to WP:AN.
Definitely! You should always err on the side of caution.
You notice that a respected administrator has begun posting vandalism at a very high rate. After blocking what would you do?
Contact the bureaucrat noticeboard and/or Arbcom about a (possibly) compromised admin account. Then undo the vandalism by that account.
I would contact both and block the account as well. It would likely take the vandal some time to figure out how to clear the autoblock.
Somebody threatens to sue Wikipedia over article content. What actions do you take?
Warn if a warning has not been issued, block the account per WP:NLT.

What is a "level three warning" and why is it significant?
A level 3 warning is the first true warning: it conveys a cease and desist message telling the user to stop or face the consequences.
Correct! A level-3 warning is the first to assume bad faith.
Do vandals need all 4 levels of warnings before they can be blocked?
No, if the account is undoubtedly a vandalism only account or the vandalism is serious enough (attacks on other users/adding libellous info to BLP's).
Correct.
What are the exemptions to 3RR?
Reverting blatant vandalism, copyright violations, additions by banned users and undoing your own revert.

AIV exercises[edit]

Here are some example AIV exercises that you can do. These users and IPs have all been reported to AIV. In each of these cases, the current time is 00:30 12 October 2011. If you choose blocking, remember to specify the options that you would use ("anon only" for IPs, "autoblock any IP addresses" for accounts, "account creation blocked", "block talk page access", "block user email access" for both), the blocking summary that you would use, and the length of time you would block. For example, you might answer "block anon only, account creation blocked for 48 hours". You can also use the shorthand formats of "hardblock" or "softblock". If you choose to not block, then please add the appropriate notification below the report. Block for username violation (uh-block, standard message), reply to the AIV report with {{AIV|ns}} and a custom message that the user was blocked for a username violation.

Insufficiently warned (as in: not warned at all). Username does constitute a disruptive username.
I personally would leave a {{vaublock}} on his talk page noting that the block is both for vandalism and an obviously offensive username. However, replying to the AIV report will do nothing, since the AIV helper robot will remove the report and all comments following it. I also wouldn't consider it appropriate to notify the filer of the report, since anybody with a username like that who starts making vandalistic edits is a pretty clear VOA. Single purpose spam accounts can be blocked without warning. Adding the url to the spam blacklist will prevent additions by other accounts.
