Marc D. Young in the Microarchaeology Laboratory at Flinders University, South Australia

My name is Marc Young, and I'm a 32 year old postgraduate student studying Geocosmic archaeology at Flinders University, South Australia. I obtained my bachelors of Archaeology and Science in 2021, completed my BSc Honours in 2022, and am hoping to begin a PhD in 2023 reconstructing past occupation patterns and developing paleoclimate records for central Australia.

Topics I am knowledgable on include archaeology, planetary & geoscience, impact geology, astronomy, ancient cultures, transmission of knowledge and culture, catastrophism, paleoclimatology, paleontology, paleoanthropology, and more.

Since 2018, I have worked with Comet Research Group founder George Howard to maintain a comprehensive and highly accessible bibliography of all scientific literature pertaining to the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis, in which anyone can read any paper at the click of a button with no paywall. Once I completed my undergraduate, I joined the CRG as a member and began collaborating with them on multiple projects.

My interests and academic background qualify me as an expert on the Younger Dryas impact hypothesis, which is an article that will require a lot of work to improve it on Wikipedia. I intend to make significant contributions and improvements to the YDIH wiki page and adjacent topics.
