UBCO Recreational Facility

The University of British Columbia's Okanagan Campus (UBCO) is located in Kelowna, British Columbia. The university provides students with a variety of opportunities to be physically active on campus. Some ways in which students can improve their health at UBCO include: playing sports in the gymnasium, working out in the hangar, and walking/running around the indoor track.

The Gymnasium and Indoor Track

UBCO's recreational facilities include three full length courts, three functional studio workout rooms, and an indoor walking track. The customer service recreation staff desk allows students to borrow volleyball,basketballs, badminton rackets, and soccer balls and play sports in the gym during periods when no varsity teams are practicing. The studios contain extra space to workout. Studio 1 contains around 30 exercise bikes (often used for spin classes), studio 2 has a functional jungle gym, and studio 3 is an open space hardwood floor used for stretching or body-weight workouts. The walking track surrounds the gym and is a great area to walk and cool down after an intense workout.

Basketball is one of the most popular sports to play in the UBCO gymnasium.

The Hangar

The Hangar is UBCO's campus fitness gym. the facility includes a free weight section, exercise machines, cardio equipment, and a stretching/body-weight training area.
