Amit Offir (Hebrew: עמית אופיר; July 16, 1978) is an Israeli author, comics artist and illustrator. He established an editing company Bestseller Books Publishing House in Tel Aviv and developed other activities as coach and lecturer.

Biography[edit]

Amit Offir, born in Or Yehuda in Israël, has studied in Moshe Sharet highschool in the city of Netanya.

In 2000, he has published his first book The Beetle that Wants to Be at 21 years old ; this illustrated philosophical tale became in a short time a best-seller. In 2013, this book was translated and published in English.

From 2000 to 2002, he decided to travel to South America, after a while he settled down in Brazil to manage a guesthouse in the island of Morro de Sao Paulo.

Back in Israël, at 25 years old, he has studied Animation during five years at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, in which, by a combinaison of circumstances, he has developped a genuine drawing technic[1] which breaks down each figure in five simple steps. He named it « Drawing Easily » [2] . Cette technique a été pensée en 2005, après qu'il a dessiné des figures sur plus de 500,000 galets. Chaque semaine, en même temps que ses études d'animation à l'Académie d'art Bezalel à Jérusalem, il dessinait sur des milliers de pierres peintes avec des textes de bienvenue pour des magasins de souvenirs et de cadeaux. Ce produit ayant un succès grandissant, il devait les fournir de plus en plus rapidement à chaque fois. Par conséquent, il commencé à dessiner de plus en plus rapidement jusqu'à ce qu'il les dessine en moins de 10 secondes et peigne chaque galet en moins d'une minute. Les livres d'enseignement de cet auteur apprennent partout dans le monde une façon simple de dessiner et comment utiliser le dessin pour communiquer[3] · [4].

Au fil des ans, Amit Offir a publié de nombreux livres de dessins, sur des techniques pour dessiner, puis sur l'autonomie personnelle, la gestion du temps, les voyages et des méthodes de développement personnel, dont certains ont été traduits dans plus de 30 langues différentes.

En 2014, il a fondé une maison d'édition, la Bestseller Books Publishing House & Literary Agency, spécialisée dans la publication de livres sur le business, le mieux-être, le développement personnel, l'autonomie, la fiction et au sujet des enfants. Pour chaque livre publié dans sa maison d'édition, il fait don d'une somme d'argent pour planter des arbres [5].

En 2015, le livre 24/8 - The Secret for being Mega-Effective by Achieving More in Less Time a été publié puis traduit par Eyal Nir en polonais chez Wena Editions. Dans ce livre, Amit Offir explore l'une de ses méthodes de gestion du temps, appelée la « réaction domino »[6].

Il est présent en juin 2017 en tant qu'auteur et conférencier pour présenter plus de vingt-cinq auteurs israélien à la Foire du livre de Hanoi au Vietnam, lui permettant de créer un partenariat avec la maison d'édition et agent littéraire vietnamien Squirel Rights pour la traduction et la diffusion de ses livres en Asie[7] · [8].

En 2018, il a commencé à travailler comme présentateur et a été invité à Malte par l'Office du tourisme pour écrire un livre à la suite de sa visite. Il a appelé le livre "Ultimate Island". Il a été vu en première de couverture de nombreux livres publiés cette année-là, photographié pour ses livres de voyage dans de nombreux endroits dans le monde comme Israël, Vietnam, Italie, Grèce, Açores, Brésil, États-Unis, , Islande, Malte , Suède, Norvège et Zanzibar.

Il a présenté un film commandé par le gouvernement de Serbie, dirigé par le réalisateur israélien de films documentaires Gil Lupo.

Over the years, Offir has published many books, some of which have been translated into over 30 languages.[9]

He invented this technique in 2005, after he had drawn over 500,000 drawings on pebbles.[10] Offir's books teach people all around the world how to draw and communicate through drawing.

Offir's first book was published in 2000 when he was 21 years old.

In 2014 he opened ‘Bestseller Books Publishing House & Literary Agency’ that specialised in publishing books of different genres such as: Business, Self Help, Personal Development, Empowerment, Education Fiction and Children Books. He decided that for each book that was getting published in his publishing house, he will donate a sum of money to plant trees [12].

His book 24/8 - The Secret for being Mega-Effective by Achieving More in Less Time was published.[13] In 2015 the book was published in a special edition with Eyal Nir in Polish by Wena publishing house.[14] In the book, Offir explores one of his methods for time management, called the domino reaction.

In 2018 he started to act as a presenter and was invited to Malta by the Maltese Tourist Office write a book about his visit. He called the book 'Ulitimate Island'. In addition He was on the cover of many books that was published that year, that were Photographed in many places in the world such as Israel[15], Vietnam[16], Italy[17],

Greece[18], Azores Islands[19], Brazil[20], America[21], Iceland[22], Malta [23] , Sweden[24], Norway[25] and Zanzibar[26]. He also was the presenter of a movie about Serbia directed by film director Gil Lupo.
