Hi!

My name is Smita and I bounce between Chicago, IL and Bangalore, India. I study Political Science {if you have a joke about moving back in with my parents because I'll never get a job, I promise I've heard it}, adore trains and it is physically impossible for me to walk in to a bookstore and leave empty-handed. If you've never had it before, filter coffee (or 'kaapi' as it may be pronounced) is absolutely the best type of coffee and the reason that Starbucks just doesn't do it for me. I'm excited to work on articles about military history, nuclear deterrence and the Middle East and South Asia.
