A partial rewrite for Mr. Olympia#2000s:

2000s[edit]

Ronnie Coleman

Ronnie Coleman won the Mr. Olympia competition eight consecutive times, tying the record set by Lee Haney. Coleman returned in 2006 to defend his title but instead placed second to Jay Cutler, who won his first title after four consecutive years of finishing second to Coleman. Cutler successfully defended his title the following year, with Coleman dropping to fourth place and subsequently announcing his retirement from competition. In 2008, Dexter Jackson defeated Jay Cutler to become the new Mr. Olympia, only to be unseated the following year when Jay Cutler became the third competitor in Olympia history (after Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu) to reclaim the title, and the only one to do so following a loss. Jackson's third-place showing in 2009 left him as the competition's third one-time champion after Chris Dickerson and Samir Bannout. (To date both Shawn Rhoden and Brandon Curry technically hold the same distinction, as they have yet to repeat their respective 2018 and 2019 victories.)
