I'm an eye surgeon who wants to get information out there as best I can. I specialise in vitreoretinal surgery - looking after people with retinal detachments, macular holes, complications of diabetic eye disease and epiretinal membranes. One of my concerns is that few people know about warning signs of eye disease. Most of the advice I see seems to cause alarm in the worried well, and fails to describe things specifically enough to help those getting real problems. I am trying to increase the amount of information on eyes and eye disease in Wikipedia.
