Page of interest has been a target previous for Ameerah1, I'm not quite at a duck block since it's been a couple years. Izno (talk) 23:22, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
I presume the name is a reference to current Indian politics which is what they are editing on, hence the contentious topics notification. I'm not sure this is a username issue though. Secretlondon (talk) 12:19, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Not a blatant violation of the username policy. Please discuss this with the user first, and consider opening a community discussion at Requests for comment/User names if they disagree with your concerns. I think that this is unclear enough that it would require more discussion than this page can accomodate. The question here is probably if this username "makes harmonious editing difficult or impossible". 331dot (talk) 20:20, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: A user with a new account continues to undo edits without specifying a reason, although the result is written there, as well as sources that completely refute his additions are indicated.Dushnilkin (talk) 19:10, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Content dispute. Consider dispute resolution. No one's used the talk page yet. I will leave a CTOPS notice on it, but the rest is up to you. Daniel Case (talk) 19:25, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Reason: Full protection needed. Edit warring between 2 users. May require action against the users involved for the edit war and the accusations on the article's talk page. DerbyCountyinNZ(TalkContribs) 21:46, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
User(s) blocked. If either editor resumes edit warring, please report the incident to WP:ANEW. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 23:50, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Reason: An article skeptical of Letby’s guilt was published in The New Yorker over the weekend. It has been incorporated in the article with due weight. However, the recent publicity has attracted a number of IP editors and SPAs who are not following NPOV, DUE, or the consensus of a recent RFC regarding the wording of the opening sentence. Jfire (talk) 22:20, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 00:16, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: The protection is no longer necessary because recent revision history does not show excessive disruptive editing within the last few months. 70.50.199.125 (talk) 04:52, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Ping Gfoley4 as the admin who protected in 2011. I assume unprotection would be ok. Johnuniq (talk) 05:04, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Comment: Are you sure the lack of disruption isn't because of the protection? - Sumanuil. (talk to me)
Also, the abuse filter log shows a lot of disruptive activity for 10 years after the protection was applied, although nothing since 2021. There is absolutely nothing preventing the IP from making an edit request. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:15, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
Change "Since the start of the Israeli operation, more than 35,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed,[86] including over 15,000 children and 10,000 women.[87][88]" to "Since the start of the Israeli operation, nearly 35,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed,[86] including over 7,000 children and nearly 5,000 women.[87][88]." This is based on the data recently revised by the UN, accessible here: https://www.ochaopt.org/content/hostilities-gaza-strip-and-israel-reported-impact-day-215. Would streamline the editing process for reversion when combatting vandalism or unnecessary additions on a handful of articles, as it is currently a pain on mobile (my main platform) Editmakerer (talk) 19:22, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
Not done I reviewed your contributions and found little to no recent anti-vandalism work. If you're still interested in this tool then please spend at least a month actively patrolling RecentChanges (Twinkle & Ultraviolet can help with that) before reapplying. Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 00:22, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Have been patrolling Recent Changes and fighting vandalism for some time now and I think that having one or more advanced anti vandalism tools would help a lot in this trajectory. Piscili (talk) 12:12, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Automated comment This user has 149 edits in the mainspace. — MusikBottalk 19:00, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Not done Please see the notice at the top of this page; with only 149 edits to the mainspace, I don't think you have the necessary editing experience for advanced permissions. Take a moment to check out CVUA, and if you decide you'd like to get involved, you can enroll at the Counter Vandalism Academy to learn more. Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits (I recommend using tools such as Twinkle or Ultraviolet which makes this extremely easy). Thanks, Fastily 23:40, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for the comment. But my edit counts in the mainspace already exceeded the 200 minimum edits to mainspace at the time you reviewed this request but the bot failed to update it accordingly. I have consistently warned editors when reverting edits but sometimes the warning template fails to load which I assume is due to my weak internet connection. And I have learnt to do manual warning when this happens. I request that you kindly take a moment and review my counter vandalism edits again. Thanks. Piscili (talk) 05:46, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Sure, although I stand by my original decline. You've been actively editing for ~1 month, which IMO isn't enough time to adequately learn Wikipedia's many policies/guidelines/best practices. You need to ensure that you're notifying editors when you revert their edits. If you're on an unstable internet connection, then you need to slow down and take extra care to ensure that you are notifying editors; RecentChanges patrol isn't a race to see who can revert the most edits. Furthermore, I note that you've made exactly zero reports to AIV, which is an important stop for any serious counter-vandalism patroller. Please carefully review my feedback, implement it, and consider reapplying in a month if you are still interested. -Fastily 07:13, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
Noted. Many thanks Piscili (talk) 07:46, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
