My user page is getting long, and this section is long enough to have its own page, so I'm moving all that over, and adding a new entry at the bottom.

Articles I find of interest[edit]

I've been meaning to do this for awhile now, so might as well get started. I read a lot of articles. The wikipedia does have a lot of interesting things on it.

  • Ceiling_fans Did you know that before electricity, they use conveyor belts hooked to water wheels to turn rows of ceiling fans in some buildings?
  • Jack_Sheppard I read this one awhile back and liked it. A little thief who got famous in his time for his bold escape from prison, etc. Interesting story.
  • Progressive_Party_(United_States,_1912)
  • List_of_common_misconceptions Napoleon wasn't short at all, the measurements done differently, and people getting confused. So much interesting stuff in there.
  • Fairy_ring Don't worry folks. Its not evil spirits. Groups of super intelligent mushrooms just decided to grow in a circle and kill off everything else, to mess with our heads.

  • [1] Wikipedia essay showing how it was before elitist deletionist somehow took over. Dream Focus 01:05, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
  • Turtle ship is fascinating. Fast moving ships to ram and fire cannons at their enemies, spikes to keep anyone from leaping onto them, armored to make cannon balls bounce off of them. A small number of ships did a whole lot of damage in wars between the Koreans in the Japanese. And they could burn things in the front to release poison smoke! • Paranormal Activity (film) is a horror film that cost $15,000 to make but had a gross revenue of $193,311,485. That is interesting.

  • Pit of despair is a bit disturbing. This is why people who never interact with their children when young, should be shot. Dream Focus 05:43, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
  • Strangler fig. Some plants grow into trees, and then cover them completely. Dream Focus 19:29, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
  • "Banana shipments often set off the radiation monitors installed at US ports to detect illegal shipments of radiologic materials." Did you know bananas were radioactive? If someone wanted to smuggle in a nuclear device, and were too dumb to just use a lot of lead shielding to hide it, they could hide it in a boatload of bananas. • Brooke Greenberg is an article I created over a year ago for a girl who never ages. Secrets to immortality surely lie within. Dream Focus 18:52, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
  • Guard llama shows how llamas are used to herd sheep and protect them from predators. Llama beats dog once again. Dream Focus 15:16, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
  • Did you know that the Doctor Who series had a virtual reality people could transfer themselves into, called the Matrix, starting in 1976, many years before the movie titled the Matrix came out? Matrix (Doctor Who) First time it was used. Dream Focus 13:08, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
  • Josef Schulz stands up for his principles! A German soldier who refuses to shoot people as his superiors ordered, and instead throws down his weapon, pulls off his Nazi insignia and goes to stand among those lined up to be shot, preferring to die than be forced to murder innocent people. You should always ignore any orders or rules passed by hateful and intolerant regimes and the goosestepping fools who mindlessly follow them without thinking for themselves. Instead do what in your conscious you know is right. The Wikipedia could learn a lesson from this. Dream Focus 06:36, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
  • Crab mentality is funny. I never heard that expression before. Some people are so busy going after each other, they end up sabotaging themselves. Dream Focus 15:35, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
  • Flying sheep really do exist it seems. Because a guy on the Wikipedia told you so. Dream Focus 03:38, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Such a sensitive plant. Dream Focus 06:15, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

  • Longest-lasting light bulbs A light bulb has lasted over a century. They only wear out if you turn them on and off. Leave them on all the time, and they last forever. Good to know. Dream Focus 14:02, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
  • Bishnu Shrestha is a Gurkha soldier who fought off 40 armed robbers on a train, with only a knife. Dream Focus 10:46, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
  • Tree shaping is something seriously cool. Look at the pictures there showing what is possible. Dream Focus 16:48, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
  • Abraham Bryan was a poor black farmer who had his house shot up during the battle at Gettysburg. Sued the government for $1,028 in damages and received $15 instead. I find articles like this interesting for some reason. Dream Focus 22:38, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
  • Baobab are some interesting giant trees that store massive amounts of water inside their trunks! Just look at the thing [2] Dream Focus 13:40, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
  • Jimmy Carter rabbit incident I could've sworn there was video of this I saw somewhere before. Rabbits can swim, and they can hiss at you, so apparently that's what happened. Might've even been a communist agent, they training animals to assassinate him, but something going wrong, and it failing to do him in. The world may never know for certain. Dream Focus 16:25, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Year 2038 problem Everything is written in binary, zeros and ones, so at that time the date will be straight ones, with no where else to go. Dream Focus 08:01, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Ames room is something of interest. Watch the video included. Make people seem to grow or shrink as they cross from one side to the other. Dream Focus 11:44, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Year_Without_a_Summer#Cultural_effects is fascinating since it shows how this event lead to people stuck inside writing famous influential books, a guy inventing the bicycle, the founding of a new religion, and a guy who survived the famines inventing mineral fertilizer later on in life.
