"The Interior of Mister Bumblethorn's Coat" is a fantasy short story by Willow Fagan. It was first published in the online magazine Fantasy Magazine October 2010.[1]

Synopsis[edit]

The story revolves around Mister Bumblethorn whose coat contains a world.

Reception[edit]

Locus Online's Lois Tilton called it "a nightmarish vision inhabited by grotesques" and notes "This is strong stuff. For a brief moment, it skirts the edge of conventional heroic fantasy but rapidly turns darker."[2]

Tangent Online's Bob Blough reviewed the story with "Filled to the brim with surprising turns of phrase and with a deep heart beating under the words, “The Interior of Mister Bumblethorn’s Coat” is really a special story."[3]
