Global warming will become so severe that Canada's population will balloon as significantly more of it's territory becomes inhabitable.
Secondary effects of global warming will involve Canada being forced (politically or otherwise) to begin diverting some of our watersheds to the United States. This will begin with the United States tapping into the Great Lakes, likely in violation of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Sustainable Water Resources Agreement [1]
Large scale animal farming will be banned or severely reduced due to the large contributions to global warming and pollution.
I will be able to grow Avocado and Mango trees in my backyard in 25 years time. Especially if reports like this [2] are true.
In 50 years time, my current property will be below sea level.
Canada, and many other countries, will see massive refugee claims as ocean levels rise and large areas of low-lying land sink beneath the waters.
Alberta will replace natural gaz with Candu based nuclear power in order to extract oil from the tar sands. They may also be forced to desalinate and pump in ocean water to have enough fresh water for the extraction process.
Quebec will have another referendum within the next 5 years. There will be a much larger difference in the "Yes" and "No" results than in the 1995 Quebec referendum.
