Quackbusting the quackbusters ... now that's what I call sport

In all seriousness, I have a passion for most things in life, especially fair process and scentific method. And a passion for medicine in all its guises, though get a little grated with irrational claims, bogus science, bogus medicine, and even more so with agenda-driven quackbusting, whether by the establishment or by the alternative crowd.

Progress in medical science comes from understanding observations and modifying beliefs and models when they no longer fit those observations. Sometimes the observation is wrong - which means the experiment should be repeated. More often the observation doesn't fit with the belief system, so the observation is removed as it is inconvenient to rethink or refine the model. Refinement and subtlety is ever so important in the understanding of medicine. All sides walk down a dangerous dogmatic path when they look for one size fits all ...

Quackery is everywhere, on all sides of the medical game, and has been there since the dawns of medical time, and will be there till the end. Spices life up a little though ...

But that's just me. And my thoughts today.

Think outside the box!
