User has got rather broad area of expertise. She is a specialist in South Asian pre-modern cultures and literatures, Islam in the Indian Subcontinent, contemporary theatre and fine arts.

User is PhD and Professor of Indo-Islamic Culture, member and fellow of some International scholarly bodies and societies. She has authored a number of books published in Russian, English and Urdu.
