User:さきこ

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello everyone[edit]

I'm fairly new to this whole business, but eager to help out. I'm a huge fan of wikipedia, and have been known to spend (read: waste) countless hours clicking and clicking and clicking...
I decided to have my username in a non-latin writing system, which may frustrate others, I'm sure (get over it). 「さきこ」 is romanized as "Sakiko."
I'm a stickler for proper punctuation, spacing, and organization (and commas before the last 'and' in a sentence), although I make mistakes like every other human being.
Misused quotation marks are probably my biggest pet peeve. I was that kid in high school who carried a sharpie around to correct grammar on student-made posters. Humble beginnings for a great wiki editor? Maybe, maybe...

My favorite types of wiki articles to explore include those on:

  • Linguistics
  • Typography
  • Japanese:
    • Language
    • Art
    • History
    • Folklore
  • Demonyms
  • Articles on Cities, Counties/Parishes, and/or States
  • Articles on musical bands and their albums

Currently[edit]

I am spending my time attempting to make the most helpful contributions I can make to local area articles. For me, this includes the cities of Mandeville and Baton Rouge and their surrounding areas, St. Tammany Parish, the state of Louisiana and related articles.
