Navigation templates are not lists[edit]

On my talk page, @OldandGood2876: stated that I "randomly chopped a considerable piece" of the template. There was no randomness in the removal of redlinks. Wikipedia:Navigation template is clear that nav templates provide navigation between existing articles. "Red links and redirects should normally be avoided unless they are very likely to be developed into articles." Is it a reasonable expectation that the redlinks I removed would become articles? Not likely as they have had years to be created. It's not like a current article who just announced a work. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:10, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bidirectional[edit]

Hi. I noticed Walter Görlitz removed several entries in the "Related" section of the Vince Guaraldi navigation box, citing WP:BIDIRECTIONAL. I read through the description of bidirectional but did not understand how it relates to the deletions. I don't have any issue with it; just want to understand the thinking behind this. Thank you kindly.Wk3v78k23tnsa (talk) 14:23, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The sentence for WP:BIDIRECTIONAL states Every article that transcludes a given navbox should normally also be included as a link in the navbox, so that the navigation is bidirectional. In other words, the navigation template does not appear on the other article, that article should not be listed in the navigation template. It's also not usual to list associated acts in a navigation template unless the association is very deep. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:50, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
