Image choice[edit]

Not that I feel too strongly about the subject, but I was just wondering why you changed the image on this template. To me, the old image was more indicative of proposed deletion patrol. Jujutacular ^T · C 00:44, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The smiley face is a reference to Watchmen which has the themes of "who watches the watchmen" and the "eve of destruction". The magnifying glass did not work so well for me.

These templates are not definitive and so one can have local variations. That's what I'll do if others don't get or like the smiley but, per WP:BOLD, I thought I start with the template and see if it sticks.

It's actually much more closely related to Acid house and that particular sub-culture. The Watchmen smiley has a distinctive red arrow across one of the eyes. This article perhaps help alleviate the obvious confusion here. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:53, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
