Template image[edit]

I recently replaced the negative image of a police officer raising a hand in a "stop!" gesture with a more positive "Thumbs up" approval gesture. I was reverted with the edit summary "Lots of people use this box...".

It is precisely because lots of people use the template - and because their user pages may be visited by the new users whose work they largely patrol - that it should have a more welcoming, positive image, rather than one suggesting a barrier; see also WP:BITE.
