What to Include?[edit]

I added a couple towns to the "other communities" section of this template, and removed a couple redlinked ones. What should be included? We can't possibly put all the communities with pages on this template. A lower population limit? A certain level of notability? Anyone out there actively working on Newfoundland articles?  OZLAWYER  talk  15:47, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When I orignally created the template, I only had the ten largest municipalities from Newfoundland and Labrador#Cities. Feel free to adjust the list as you feel more apporpriate. Circeus 16:05, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where to Cut Off[edit]

  • I think a town with a population smaller then 3000 should be a good cut off point. Or maybe the top thirty biggest towns of the province.

Split Suggestion[edit]

Why don't we split this template into eleven based on census division? That way, we can manageably list all the communities of Newfoundland and Labrador on templates in an understandable manner and avoid the subjectivity of which communities to exclude.

Right now this list is completely arbitrary. There are minor towns like Peterview and Red Bay on the list while towns like Bay Roberts and Port Aux Basques are absent. I propose that this list be the top 30 towns in terms of population with a minimum of 1 town from each census division. This way we can keep the list impartial and ensure that all regions of the province are included.
