Problem with template[edit]

RJFF did a nice job, but the template has a problem, that makes it unencyclopedic. In elections for the Chamber of Deputies, South Tyroleans and Trentino people vote in the same regional constituency, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol (see here). This means that South Tyroleans helped to elect not just the 2 SVP deputies who are mentioned in the template, but also 3 deputies for the PdL, 2 for the PD and 1 for LN, and by the way, the SVP received just 44.3% in South Tyrol in the last election, while the PD got 16.2% and the PdL 14.0% (see here). It is thus not surprising that one of the Democrats (Maria Luisa Gnecchi) and one of the Freedomites (Giorgio Holzmann) who were elected are South Tyroleans. This doesn't mean anyway that South Tyrol had four deputies, in fact, under the current law, the PD and the PdL could have elected only people from Trentino, according to the closed-list order. Similarly, in European Parliament elections South Tyrol is part of a large constituency comprising also Trentino, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Emilia-Romagna: there is no special constituency for South Tyrol, although there is a provision that says that the 4% national threshold is not applied to the best-placed German-minority party, provided that it forms an alliance with a larger party and that it gets as much votes as are needed to elect a MEP. The template is thus misleading. The only way to make it encyclopedic is probably to leave just the row on the Landtag. --Checco (talk) 19:36, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I have overlooked this problem. Thank you for the suggested improvement. Regards --RJFF (talk) 20:55, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
