Inclusion of Greek letter names[edit]

In 2020, the WMO retired Eta and Iota from the hurricane naming lists and announced that it would end the use of the Greek alphabet. Hurricanes Delta and Zeta affected the United States and Mexico dealt enough damage for their names to be retired, but they were not retired. Should hurricanes with Greek letters be included as unofficially retired names? 24.191.232.15 (talk) 23:43, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My personal opinion is that we shouldn't include them as unofficially retired names, since they were just removed from the naming lists and not retired by the hurricane committee who could in theory bring them back at anytime.Jason Rees (talk) 14:15, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
